We we enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for us all (the boys loved the bunk beds).I will say, though, there were 5 of us. There should be more dishes and glasswear. Also, cooking pans, etc. We had most of our meals there. The outdoor gril needs to be replaced; not usable.

Overall you can tell a lot was done to make the interior welcoming. However the king size bed is like sleeping directly on springs. The water pressure is none existent, and the hot water is plumb to the wrong line in the master sink. The water is very metallic. We found two cockroaches, and of course a rooster that is there to wake you up between 5-7am and likes to come up on the front porch.

Affordable get away & Pet friendly

We have stayed at David & Felicias place in the past, it has alwasy been great. A few maintenance items that have arisen, but David had pre-alerted to me that they were already being scheduled to be fixed. Love the coffee varieties available. The place is pet friendly as well, which is key for us. We will stay again. Thanks!

Very nice stay. One caution the front stairs need repair on the left hand rail.

Inside was very nice. The left hand rail on the steps into the front was rotted. This was a concern as we had an elderly disabled person in our group. This should be repaired ASAP.

Great rustic experience

We had a great stay at sammys lodge. Even the rustic bathtub was cute! The host was gracious and attentive, the plave was very cute. We will stay again

Great trip with the family

I stayed here with my husband and 3 kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The check in & check out process was incredibly easy (which is a huge plus when traveling with kids) We loved having the Roku available for TV watching since we ended almost every evening with a family movie night! The slow cooker available to use was a huge bonus! (We suggest also looking into an air fryer, as it's an awesome way to cook but also warm up any leftovers ha). Having 2 bathrooms was a huge benefit as well. The yard was a great size, but we didn't even get to utilize it because we spent the days and evenings at the beach. The house was perfect for our needs. A few things need updated/fixed but it didn't affect our ability to enjoy the property at all. We couldn't find a beach within 5 minutes but we did find one within 13. Our favorite though was North Topsail beach, which was 20 min away and a very simple drive. We did take the hour trip to the Carolina Beach Boardwalk to watch fireworks on the beach and it was a great trip and overall easy drive. The kids loved the amusement rides, we got to enjoy a nice dinner at a 50s era diner (Pops) and had a great family evening. We didn't want to leave!! So glad to have found this place and would surely stay again if we make it back down that way.

Nice place and close to many attractions

Very nice and clean place. Fit our family of 6 adults and one young child well for a weeks stay. Had everything we needed and everything worked well. Would definitely come back.

Great experience

We had a great experience. The water did give out on us and the property owner was contacted and came immediately in the rain to try and figure out what was wrong got a plumber out in reasonable time and back to functioning. Owner went above and beyond. Would absolutely stay again. About 10 minutes or so from surf city and topsail

Great stay on a budget

My family and I had a great time and enjoyed the home. The owner was very kind and quick to help and respond when needed. The accommodations were very nice inside the home and the beds were very comfortable. The home was very clean and came with the cookware, dishes and many more extras. The kids enjoyed the trampoline in the back and had a blast running around the big backyard. This home is about 15 minutes from the beach and about 25 minutes from Wilmington. The only thing I would caution you about is the dirt road that leads up to the home has big dips in it. If you drive slow it helps to get around the dips. The exterior of the home is very misleading from the inside. It could use some curb appeal on the front exterior. But we had a great time and really enjoyed the home.

Quick family trip to the coast…

My husband and I as well and my sister and her husband and infant son as well as our parents and a family friend made a quick weekend to the coast and found this VRBO listed a short distance from the beach. We were extremely impressed by the cleanliness inside the house as well as the attention to detail from a personalized note from the owner and letter magnets on the fridge welcoming us to their property, spring water with coffee pods and creamer in the kitchen, tooth brushes and toothpaste in the bathrooms, all necessary linens, etc.. We would definitely stay here again for a quick trip. Very reasonably priced. The only drawback for me was turning onto the sand road from busy highway 17. Thanks again!

A Gem

We had never been to this area before, so we were looking for a nice, clean place just close enough to the beach that would accommodate all of our family without being overpriced. We were blown away by our stay here. The owners have done a ton of updates and have literally thought of EVERYTHING you may need during your stay. It's just a 10min drive from Surf City and Topsail Beach and had plenty of room for our kids. We were especially excited that we got to bring our fur babies and enjoy vacation with our entire family. We will definitely be back!
