About this property

MacKenzie Cottage, MacKenzie Cottage at Camp Caledonia

  • 1 bedroom lakeview cabin with a kitchen and screened-in porch in "The Highlands." A few extra steps from the water with an UNBELIEVABLE view. Features one bedroom with queen bed and 2 twin beds in the main room that can be "bunked up" or "bunked down". We no longer provide cots, but there's plenty of room for you to bring your own air mattress.

    Please bring your own linens and towels.
    We provide cookware/utensils, flatware, cups, plates, dish soap and sponges, paper towels, and toilet paper. Coffee, soap, shampoo, and conditioner are available at no charge upon request.
    In order to keep our nightly rate low, a one-time housekeeping fee of $115 will be added to each reservation, regardless of the length of your stay.

4.8 rating the porch screen door had broken screensnd there were some holes in the screen porch. Bees were coming into the porch. Otherwise we really enjoyed the unit. Quiet unit. Great for cooking iutdoirs. Clean. Interior.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
So to start. The porch screen has holes in it, as previously stated by another review. Still wasn't fixed. Still had bees coming in, flies, all kinds of bugs. Was getting bit while in the cabin. If you read what they expect of you, you'll see they want you to clean up after yourself, which is expected, howeber there was trash between the beds, trash in the fire pit unburnt, we had people walking all through our space and the hosts did not answer a SINGLE CALL OR MESSAGE THE ENTIRE STAY. They asked to call and check in, or stop and knock. They were home. Let the dogs out 10 minutes afterwards. The power didn't work in half of the cabin, and the power is so outdated you can't just reset the breaker, and as stated before, they didn't answer to even fix this. I called to check in and tell them about the power not working in half the cabin and nope. Never heard from them the entire stay.I noticed the cleaning Lady cleans 2 days after people leave, which would be whyout cabin was horrible. I noticed it was someone else's trip had ended the same day ours started and seems it never got touched to be cleaned. Oh, the floor is falling through in the shower. The bathroom water runs all night. Don't get up to go bathroom in the middle of the night, you'll wake the entire neighborhood up walking around at night. Pictures posted are not legit.If I could get some money back from this, I totally would take it. HORRIBE HORRIBLE HOSTING.Cabin is actually 40ft ABOVE the lake.
