"This villa is even better than shown. It is beautiful in all ways and very comfortable and relaxing. Doug and Janet are wonderful hosts and very helpful and welcoming. Beds are very comfortable, the pool was a great temperature at all times of the day, and the property feels very private and secure. We never used the A/C in the bedroom because the night downslope breeze and the ceiling fan were more than enough. It was great to hear all the jungle wildlife sounds each morning, including howler monkeys just outside the bedroom a few yards away in the trees. The road is typical for Costa Rica with rocks and ruts, but when dry, any SUV with AWD/4WD and good ground clearance will work fine. We had a Hyundai Tucson and it handled the road without a problem. The host communicated the week's schedule of visits by pool, housekeeping, and grounds crews. There were some local construction sounds from a new nearby house, but mostly very peaceful. We definitely wanted to stay much longer! Thanks, Doug and Janet."

"We were a family of five traveling to Costa Rica for the first time mainly for the surfing. This house was PERFECT in every way. A lot of reviews have already mentioned Alejandro. But, it really makes a difference to have a contact who is so capable greeting you and getting you situated. We found Dominical felt very safe but as with any tourist location you need to be smart about locking your car and being aware. When in the house we felt VERY safe and secure. The house has everything you could need and is kept in impeccable condition. The views never get old and the hummingbirds and butterflies visited the landscaping around the house every morning. I, honestly, can't even think of one negative thing to say about the house or location. Just perfect. "

"Five stars all the way. Villas Rio Mar has an amazing location — close to Dominical but outside the hustle, peaceful and relaxing. Just minutes from the beach, with a beautiful river nearby. The property is gorgeous, the pools are great, the rooms are beautiful, and everything was clean and well maintained. The restaurant was fantastic and the service was excellent. "It was great. I have a recommendation that could be a life saver. Remove the shrub at confluence of the driveway and the hwy on the south side. It's extremely hard to see northbound traffic. I wish you could secure the property adjacent to the south. The public traffic on the beach is crazy on the weekend. "
