"Alas, this property has seen better days. It’s not horrible, or even unbearable, but bare bones. AC was adequate for sleep but not for siesta. Beach is not inviting. Nearby bars were ok for food. We left a day early. "

"The rooms were clean. A bit of a musty smell, which gave me concern as I am allergic to mold. Managed to sleep with door open (unit 5, very private) and no problem. Bathroom just steps away. My only trouble was not with the Property, but with the entire family that took over the place. They were not at the property the evening before. The next morning I went to make coffee. Every pot, pan, and kettle was taken over by this group. Inconsiderate of the fact that this was a “hostel-type” property. No way to move around. I was looked at like I was an Intruder! I was very uncomfortable. The other travelers were most gracious and kind. As was the manager. I would stay again."

"Staff is great. Family-style breakfasts and dinners were wonderful. Rooms/casitas are nice, hotel overall is lovely. Location is good and bad. Great proximity to isolated beach. Road to the hotel is very slow, bumpy, and pothole-ridden. 4x4 highly recommended and the road wil add 20 minutes a each way to your trip in and out of the hotel, so plan accordingly. "

"We enjoyed our brief stay at casa amor in Puerto Jimenez very much. Our host was very prompt in their communications. The property was centrally situated and in a beautiful compound. The bedrooms were spacious, the kitchen area well designed with all the necessary equipment and the whole house felt cozy and welcoming. We enjoyed the privacy and beauty of the outdoor pool and gardens and bird watching. A wonderful place!"

"There is no way this is 3.5 star and it is very expensive for a small motel room. Cold water shower (despite it working for a couple of seconds) Owner has a pack of dogs that bark all the time - they locked them in when I complained but were out barking again at 6am It says it is inclusive of breakfast but they didn’t provide it and said it was a mistake So really poor but the little restaurants nearby were great and I probably had the best meal so far, it’s also a great place for spotting parrots and toucans "

"Gate lock is messed up and we don't have a key to the gate. You have to reach inside to pseudo-unlock it from behind Screens on the sunroom are missing their locks, so anyone can gain access from outside Huge cockroaches, their babies, and their eggs are everywhere. All over the dishes, pots, pans, walls, floors, etc. Inside the drawers of the nightstands 3 of the first floor windows have no glass or screens, so we had to cover them with tape and trash bags to keep more insects from entering. Spiders and spider webs all over the place Safe doesn't work with key or electronically The AC units are only in two rooms of the entire house, so there is no way to cool down from the incessant heat One of the walls leaks when it rains Exposed wiring next to the shower head in one of the downstairs bathrooms The balcony door barely closes The couch and couch cover are both smeared with mystery goop The oven doesn't work at all The water dispenser in the fridge is busted Half of the lights in the house don't work The WiFi doesn't work, and we needed it to stay in contact with our families and excursion crews The toilet next to the master bedroom shrieks for 30 seconds every time you flush it The air conditioner sounds like grating sheet metal"
