Walking Distance To Marina in Historic Golconda
This cozy 2BD/1BA home is located both within walking distance of the Golconda Marina and in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest. It comes fully furnished with everything you need when you get back from your adventures on the water or in the forrest.
The first bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin-sized beds. All bed linens, extra blankets, and towels are provided. 1 full bath has a tub/shower combo.
- The eat-in kitchen comes equipped with dishes, silverware & basic appliances like coffeemaker, toaster, & crockpot. Open to the common area, a tv hangs on the wall and wifi allows for streaming all of your favorite shows.
- There is a grill and space for outdoor dining as well.
Come stay and explore the area! Golconda is home to several great places to eat & numerous antique and gift shops in the downtown area. Horseback riding, hiking and cycling can be enjoyed throughout the local area. Golconda is located on the National Cross Country Bike Trail, the Ohio River Scenic Byway, the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail, and is the destination of the annual River-to-River Relay.

We stayed in Golconda, Illinois because family lives there. We visited Paducah, Kentucky which is about a 30-45 minute drive. Cute 2 bedroom, 1 bath duplex.

I was over booked had to spend the night in my truck
Still waiting to get my money back Vrbo double booked me was in a small town during deer season nothing within a hour nine at night before getting through to Vrbo ten thumbs down

Found out that morning that the place was rented to someone else for the same weekend
I was packing my car getting ready for the 6 hour drive to the rental and received messages on Vrbo that morning that Vrbo had double booked the unit and that the unit was given to the other party. I booked this rental in February 2023 and don’t understand how they never noticed this problem. I was offered a different smaller unit without any adjustment to the cost. I felt like the owner rented it to someone else to get more money due to the eclipse. I am waiting for my refund, supposed to be on its way to my bank.
I was very disappointed and don’t understand at all.

River Roost was a great place to stay. It was cute, the property managers were very responsive. It is a place I would highly recommend.
