"The Acorn was the perfect place to gather with our 3-generational family. Plenty of room to enjoy each other and the spectacular ocean views, animals and wildlife. We walked across the street to Pt Lobos State Park for exceptional hikes and to play on Monastery Beach. We cooked several delicious meals in the generously stocked kitchen. And slept great in the comfy beds. Mark responded quickly to a minor concern."

"Our experience was extremely disappointing for three reasons. First the property, which is quite old, has not been well maintained. The word I would use to describe our room is "shabby." Pretty shocking at this price point. Second, the management and service levels are below par. The primary draw of the property is the ocean view, meaning the property is located on a sloped hillside. That means stairs and distant parking lots. We arrived at night and no assistance or explanation was offered other than a map handed to us at the front desk. Finding our room in the dark was in no way intuitive.Seriously, at these prices? Finally, we were subtly pitched on the timeshare which co-exists on the propery. Tacky. We are never going back"

"Truly a magical stay in a cottage on the sea! We Lucked out and had some incredible sunsets on the beach. Super convenient location to Point Lobos, Big Sur, and Carmel! Very comfortable stay and well appointed kitchen. The cottage was impeccably clean. Very normal checkout cleaning requests, which I so appreciate. Would absolutely stay here again! "
