"A lovely quiet place perfect for a night away. Clean and comfortable. Great host, always there to help out. Just be aware that the hot tub is a paid extra, something that is not mentioned but that is not the hosts fault. They are unsure why that information is missing from the listing. Hotels.com were useless at trying to sort that out. But don't hesitate to book this place, just maybe drop them a message about using the hot tub first. "This is a fabulous place to stay in Bury St Edmunds - easy to get to the town centre and the station. A very warm welcome, very comfortable, clean and well-equipped room. The bar areas and outside seating are excellent. The menu is inventive and the food very good, as is the array of wines and beers. The breakfast was way beyond expectation - I thought it was just going to be a continental breakfast as described in my booking, but it was way better than that. I really can’t fault this place - I certainly hope to be back there soon."

"Enjoyed our few days at the hotel. Nice rooms with very comfortable bed. Good facilities in the room but no safe. Breakfast was good - pretty standard. Pastries were not great - pain-au-chocolat and croissants were disappointing. We had a couple of meals in the bar. The burgers were not good. Tasted like very processed meat. Pizza was good. Service in the evening in the bar was a bit hit and miss. One evening, the server was busy chatting to another guest so never got to serve us. Grounds are excellent and the golf course is a nice challenge."

"We stayed for one night in an annex. Room was comfortable and clean with a few minor niggles e.g. the lock on the bathroom. Breakfast was a good choice of cold and hot options. Worth booking in advance for a discount. Location was good, easy walk into Mildenhall where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. We would stay again if in the area."

"The room was clean, but dated. The staff were friendly and very helpful We didn't have breakfast there, but only because we had other arrangements. We did have dinner the three nights we stayed, all of the meals were excellent and well presented. Parking was not a problem, enough space for all guests and staff. The hotel is an old property that oozes character and the garden is quiet and relaxing. The room we had does need some tlc to be honest, but for 3 nights it was acceptable."

"Well presented and quietly located bedroom in an adjacent building with all necessary amenities - tea/coffee maker, iron. Large and well equipped, modern bathroom. Spotlessly clean on arrival although, a minor grudge, no housekeeping on 2nd day. Very good dinner (duck) well presented. Delicious breakfast on both mornings - comprehensive menu. Saturday's breakfast was a bit if a scrum as the restaurant is popular with non-residents which meant slower service. Generally excellent value and recommended."
