Location, location, location…it’s really the only reason for the 3 star rating. This is right on the beach and the beach is beautifulThe house is dirty, which is confirmed on other reviews. It claims to have a stand alone toilet, but that door was locked so no access to it was availableThere aren’t a lot of great eating establishments in Surfside, which we knew going in, so planned all meals to be prepared at the house. We had 10 people. There was plenty of pots, plates, coffee cups and maker, and cookware/silverware…but if you wanted a glass for a drink, you used a coffee mug or shared one of three plastic glasses. If you wanted cereal or soup, you had to eat in shifts. There is a grill downstairs, but it is locked to a pilar and there is no light in that area of the under-deck. It’s winter here in Texas so that sun goes down early and it was a game to guess if our meal was raw, perfectly grilled, or terribly over cooked.Towels, beds, pillows would be what you’d expect from the motel across the street from the house…If you want to relive that first “off campus” house of your male college friends, this is your place. We also enjoyed the made up TABC laws in the welcome binder.Overall, great location. Everything else was pretty underwhelming!
