This was our very first visit to VF Resort and Casino. We stayed one night in the Stardust tower on the 5th floor. Our room was spacious overall, very clean, and the beds were very comfy. There were 5 drawers for storing clothes -- that is much more than the usual hotel. There was also a small closet in the foyer -- we liked that it did NOT have a door, so access was easy. Because the Stardust tower is round, the rooms are shaped like a slice of pie, and thus the room is narrowest when you walk in. As a result the bathroom sink and vanity are in the foyer while the toilet and tub/shower are in the rest of what comprises a standard bathroom, and it is rather tight in there, and the full size door makes it seem even smaller, but it's all very functional. The AC worked very well and provided a nice steady white noise that was soothing at bedtime. Our fridge was inoperative when we arrived but we reported it shortly thereafter and within 30 minutes a technician came to check it. He said we needed a new one. We went down to the casino and when we returned to the room 1.5 hours later, we had a new, very chilly mini-fridge. Between the front desk, maintenance, and security we were very impressed with the clearly well-trained, friendly, helpful staff. We would stay at this hotel again.

My stay was comfortable. However, I was disappointed by the hotel’s communication and customer service. Before arrival, I was told that my room might be hot because of an unresolved HVAC problem. The hotel said that I could cancel or accept the room as it was, in which case I would receive Bonvoy points. After I confirmed that I would keep the reservation and asked about the amount, I was told that the minimum compensation would be at least 10,000 points. After my stay, the hotel refused to provide any points because the room had not actually been hot. That condition had never been stated earlier. When I pointed this out, I was accused of taking the hotel’s words out of context. I understand that staff had to contact many guests, but the full email exchange remained in writing. Failing to explain an important condition and then blaming the guest showed no sincere willingness to resolve the matter fairly. This was not simply about wanting 10,000 points. It was about whether a written commitment would be honored. Most importantly, despite causing considerable anxiety before my arrival, no one of the hotel never apologized. I also asked to change the credit card used for the deposit, but the original authorization was not released until after checkout. This tied up part of my available credit and prevented me from using the card as planned. The room was satisfactory, but the management’s communication and attitude left a negative impression.
