Castles in France

Very exciting staying in a real old chateau, but with the facilities of a very thoughtful full restoration with modern comforts such as a/c, floor heating and huge and beautiful private bathrooms. The site is also very pretty, a large estate well landscaped. Last but not least, Jennifer was a great hostess.

Great place

We flew here from the United States for our daughter’s wedding. The property radiates historic charm, but has some modern updates, most notably the showers. Great pressure and temperature control along with space to move around. The grounds are beautiful! The reception was held adjacent to the hotel in an enclosed room that nicely accommodated the 60 guests. The staff is conscientious and friendly.

This is a wonderful place too stay with one drawback - there’s no restaurant which means driving to Gaillac too find somewhere to eat. Alternatively, the room has a mini-kitchen and there are ready-to-heat meals available - beautifully presented in glass jars…and the chateau’s own wines are excellent

This is an unbelievable place to stay - such an experience!!!! Totally stunning setting and wonderful hosts.Highly recommend.

Remote stay. Castle (small) like experience. Matthieu our host was very friendly, helpful and with a warm welcome.

Great host! Really appreciate their hospitality and the place is from another time. They have done a nice job of updating the property situated on 8 acres. We stayed 2 nights.. I highly recommend it. Bed and breakfast style in an 1800 chateau. We truly enjoyed it.

I nice calm place to stay - we recommend

Our stay at Château Léognan was unfortunately cut short due to the nearby wildfires, but even with the unexpected circumstances, our experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Check-in was seamless, and our room was absolutely stunning—beautifully designed, spacious, and full of charm. It was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. When the wildfires forced us to leave earlier than planned, the team handled the situation...

The Chateau lies gently uphill from the town center, and is a mid 19th century building beautifully restored and expanded on the the premises, which are surround by vineyards. Beautiful, calm, and beautifully cared for, our visit exceeded our expectations. The staff was knowlegable, spoke good English, and catered to our every need. Dinner at their restaurant was wonderful - and we enjoyed a wine tasting prior to dinner, one of a planned series of events to make the chateau a center of both...

Our hosts were incredibly nice, and very kind as I stumbled with my broken French. The property is absolutely gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We have been 'Chateau' travelers for 42 years. I cannot count the number of establishments visited. Ch Goujonnerie is 'THE' most charming Chateau we have had the priviledge to stay. It was exceptionally difficult to say goodbye after 5 nights. Isabella, Natalie AND Stephen and Michel were the most charming hosts. We will never forget their care to guests. We look forward to returning again and is a great place for a base camp if you want to visit La Rochell or Il de Re or so many other places...
