Upon check-in we were left with basically zero necessities for the week: toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, dish and hand soap etc so a shopping trip was our first stop. After rinsing a few coffee mugs, water came rushing out from under the sink flooding the entire area including the kitchen floor, mat, and everything under the sink. Upon review, a white “bucket” was already in place under the sink and this sink issue was never disclosed to us. I spent $9 and a few hours of vacation washing and drying their towels because of this mess. I informed the owners and I was told the plumber would not arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday- the day we were leaving. Also they said they would reimburse me for “a paper towel roll”. For the first 2 days of our stay we had to rinse/wash dishes in the bath tub- a huge inconvenience. The owners did not follow up very frequently or timely and I ended up getting a maintenance guy in there to stop the leak so we could use the sink. I was told 3-4 times by the owners they would compensate us for the inconveniences yet I’ve received nothing. I asked kindly this week about the reimbursement promised to us and received a “please you are being a bully. Stop” reply. They also blamed the sink issue on the previous tenants stating “I’m mad. They told us about the sink issue”, so they were aware of this yet did not disclose to us or take ownership and get it fixed. Compensation for supplies, laundry (on Easter morning) and time spent cleaning up would have been appreciated but they have chosen to call me a bully for asking “please update me when you can - thanks” ...It’s disappointing to see this happen while on vacation and to have the owners not care at all and blame others for their issues. I will not be renting from Vince/Julia again and when asking other renters in the unit about our situation- they were all taken aback at the conditions and behavior presented to us during our stay. Will be reaching out to VRBO support team about our experience as well.
