Good location and friendly owners

Dee Jay Beach resort is a great place to stay in Lauderdale by the Sea. Not only us it in a great location, our efficiency was comfortable and roomy. The owner was on site and attended to any needs we had. The backyard was a nice respite from the hectic travel and had a pool and lounge chairs to relax and rest. There was a shopping plaza a short distance away, which housed a super market, a diner, and so much more. A short drive, led us to a great area with lots of restaurants and shops. We would stay again the next time we go to that area.

This is older resort located in a quiet, yet centrally located area. On beach. The amenities and furniture need updating but it was very clean. Great price for locarion. Steps from beach. Pet friendly and a lifeline during hurricane Ian.

This is a quiet establishment. The rooms were comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and had on site laundry. Short walk to beach with chairs and towels available. Shopping and restaurants were nearby. There was construction in one of the buildings which impacted the pool at certain times of the day.

I enjoy staying at the Dee Jay beach resort apartments. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The property management Marissa is amazing, she helps make your stay warm & welcoming. This location is walking distance from wonderful local bars & restaurants and across the street from the ocean. Highly recommended.

Marissa was very friendly to work with but the place had zero amenities, rooms were disgusting and we had daily issues with final charges. Again Marissa was friendly to work with throughout the process, but overall terrible place to stay.

Fantastic place! (1 bedroom apartment, unlike a plain hotel room). 2 minute walk to the beach, free parking, excellent service from the host. Definitely will return here next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale!

This motel needs a lot of work. The first room we were given was dirty, in the back of the building, a view of a boarded up building and quite dismal. The second room was in the front, in a bit better condition and overlooked a lovely road of palm trees and a nice motel. The room has clearly been worked on with the couch being recovered and the bathroom being spackled but not painted. The bathroom floor tiles all moved. The closet held a heating/cooling system that had massive amounts of dirt build up in the air filter. There was no cleaning service I assume since one day during our 5 days two clean towels were left on a chair on the balcony. The pool was not at all inviting and I never saw anyone using it. The bottom was various colors, either dirty or needed painted. The lounge chairs were toppled over and lined the pool edge lengthwise because there wasn’t room for them. The pool was in a courtyard that lead to the bath building so it was basically used as a walkway. Fresh paint, some plants, chairs that fit might help the space. The beach which was a short two minute walk diagonal from the motel. Marissa offered chairs to use which were perfect for our stay. Overall, I think Marissa was a lovely person. The motel needs a lot of work but could be fixed up with some deep cleaning, paint and elbow grease. We enjoyed our balcony and spent a lot of time in the morning and night sitting there. The location is prime, a walk to the beach and to the busy center.

Great Location

Maria and Marissa are the best. They made our stay very enjoyable. The property does need updated but they are working on it. Despite the update, the rooms are big and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay there and the location is perfect. Steps from the beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Needs a lot

Hate leaving bad reviews but wish I had read this before I booked!! Hotel was not at all as pictured. One of the buildings was boarded up, pool area was filthy room was very dated and in need of repairs and renovation. However the location was perfect to beach and nightlife. If the hotel is updated and repaired we would definitely give it another try.

With DeeJay Resort what you see is what you get. Older property in the BEST location in El Mar drive for the money. If property were renovated it would cost twice as much to stay there. The Ocean is steps away for real. Maria and Marissa deliver an Old World charm to the expletive - like a bed and breakfast without the breakfast.
