Kati was a perfect host -- responsive, on-time, warm and helpful! The apartment is charming and in a prime location. Our ONLY complaint about this place is the bed. I read many, many reviews about this apartment and plenty of people comment about the bed being comfortable. These people must be used to sleeping on a hardwood floor. The bed is a thin, Ikea-like mattress on a wooden platform--no box spring. It's VERY firm. That's probably not a problem for most people but my partner has muscle issues and we're both used to sleeping on a very soft bed, so we were very uncomfortable. Also, the towels in the bathroom are pretty old and rough.
Now for all the good things: Very clean and cozy, all the amenities you could want or need. Kati even provides a little basket of wine and snacks! There's a washer and Kati provides detergent so we were able to do a small load of laundry (much appreciated!). The double windows do a superb job of blocking out the street noise and the curtains keep the room dark. The location is very convenient and we highly recommend making a dinner reservation at the restaurant next door, La Giostra. Technically, the apartment is between two dining rooms of the restaurant. Kati also has a book full of other great recommendations. Also, like most buildings in Italy, there is no lift and Kati shocked me when she carried my very heavy suitcase all the way up to the 4th floor without seeming to struggle at all.
Except for the firm bed, would highly recommend this apartment to anyone!
