Although Mauritius is only a small island, there are lots of places to explore by foot, car, organised tours or if you fancy exploring the island by yourself public transport is readily available. Mauritius is a volcanic island surrounded by beautiful mountains to climb and white sandy beaches to soak up the sun, chill out, swim, and enjoy the local food sold on the beaches.
