"Restaurant food was excellent, though limited in selection. Arctic char and lamb were superb. This hotel is a sleeping place in preparation for the incredible Landmannalaugur mountain and hiking area, both well worth Icelandic prices!"
"A really amazing property and possibly my favorite of our week long trip. We were only here one night, but it was perfect. The view was incredible and the space very clean. My only very small and easy to fix complaint was that all the amenities weren’t listed or were unclear. There is nowhere very close to eat or get groceries so we planned to only have a kettle. When we got we had a set up for an electric cook top, pan, and some other things. Also, it wasn’t as clearly listed that we would have access to a shared space with hot tub, large sauna, coffee bar, lounge area. These were all things that made our night better, so I thought they should be more clearly listed. We very much enjoyed our stay and would like to go back some time!"
"I normally avoid hostels but I appreciated my stay here. The rooms were clean, the beds were made, loved the fact that luggage stays in the hallway because it limits the noise inside the rooms for those who are sleeping. Lockers are offered to keep your belongings safe. I was nervous about staying the night as when I first walked in, it was very loud with the amount of people by the reception desk. I could barely hear the receptionist talking to me when checking in. I was worried the noise would be carried into the rooms if people were to continue chatting in the lobby but the hostel implements quiet hours so to not disturb other guests. The bathrooms were clean, kitchen was massive. Many stations for multiple groups to cook. Felt nice interacting with different people after solo traveling the entire day. Also liked the fact that shoes had to been taken off by the front door so mud and dirt wouldn't be spread to the rest of the hostel and had a nice large coat rack to hang all wet clothes. The best hostel ever stayed in. Definitely recommend booking. "
"The property itself was immaculate. Great indoor and outdoor areas and a well equipped kitchen for preparing meals (there are no restaurants around the area). There is also a washer and dryer so you can do laundry.
The only downside are the road conditions to the property; they are rocky and not well paved.
The hotel does not have a proper check in / front desk, so locating the exact building for me to pay for the stay was a bit challenging. "
"We loved our stay in a glamping tent here. It was the perfect chill out between hiking the laugavegur and fimmvorduhals trails. The little sauna is great after hiking, the staff were so helpful and the trails in the area are fantastic. Walk the orange trail, the glacier views are amazing! "
