"We chose this place for its convenient location to Spoon RIver Festival towns. It worked out perfectly for us. The place is just right for 2 people!"

"The property is beautiful! My kids loved kayaking every day and used the amazing rope swing several times a day. Very close to the Oak Run beach. The cabin was very clean and nicely appointed, and the beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable. We will definitely be back."

"This site is still under construction but promises to be a nice getaway. I was the only cabin in use. The huge windows provided a great view of the lake and the daily gathering of Canadian geese. Perfect place for dogs with clean tile floors - easy to clean and don’t hold smells from previous pets. Comfortable bed, great TV, tight quarters with limited furniture/seating (no place to set suitcase), beautiful bathroom, basic kitchen tools (no serving bowls or mixing dish) and coffee provided....

"The staff was very nice, but we where unexpectedly charged $20 cash for an extra person without prior knowledge, our reservation guaranteed the continental breakfast on the receipt, but upon check in we where told no and we would have to pay extra as well. We were also put in a separate building all together where the hallways where not air conditioned and lack of extra pillows and other amenities where lacking. A bit disappointing."

What made the situation disappointing was not the breakdown itself, but the host’s dismissive and rude response when I asked for a price adjustment consideration.The setting is beautiful, the home was clean, and our kids loved the heated pool and fishing on the lake. However, there were other issues that impacted our stay:Wasps inside the home and nest in the screened in porch, creating a safety concern.Grill appeared not to have been cleaned in years.One downstairs bedroom had no curtains, so we had to cover the windows for the kids to sleep in.This property has great potential, but guest service matters. A little understanding and problem-solving would have gone a long way toward making this a great stay despite the hot tub being out of order."
