Nice little find, the staff were unfailingly excellent. Our room was large and we also had a massage chair that was fantastic to have a drink and watch the World Cup from. I felt like Joey and Chandler in Friends. There was no breakfast but I think you could pay $25 for one. We went Aldi which was a couple of blocks away to stock up on brekkie There was a nice gym to get a sweat on and as it was set in a uni campus outside of term time it was quiet. Transport wise we could walk 10 mins to the Metro stop at NOMA galludet but we also walked back one evening and it wasn't too bad, some interesting characters but nothing too threatening. It's a $15 taxi ride from Union Station Also pro tip, to make the walk to Union Square bars and the metro station request a key card to get you through the gate....it saves ten minutes of your life All in all a pleasant experience

The hotel was cleaned alright, but the facilities/rooms are not well maintained and although the staff was nice, they were not helpful. The air conditioning wasn’t working on our room (see picture: the AC unit wasn’t even installed properly) so we told front desk at around 5pm. At 2 am, it was still NOT working (on the middle of a heat wave). The front desk, different staff by now, told me to wait for 20mins. I’m not sure why because they didn’t have anyone to fix it. We ask for another room, but they said they didn’t have other rooms. As it got worse, over 85 degrees, we volunteered to sleep on the lobby because it was so hot in our room. Suddenly, there were 3 other rooms to pick from. Two of the rooms had broken door locks so we couldn’t use them. The 3rd room AC wasn’t working either but at least the fan was on, so it was a little cooler at 78, so we switched rooms. While we waited for over an hour in the lobby, we listened to other guests having similar issues: broken this, missing that, etc. We paid premium for this hotel for a terrible night. Also, we pre-paid in full, but the front desk charged us an additional money for the use of amenities (gym and pool) regardless of we using them. We are definitely not coming back nor we would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Best hotel experience! And I travel a lot! Great location, great service, terrific communication with front desk, can even tip through a QR code (for those of us who never have cash!). And the refreshing citrus water in the lobby was delicious and much needed in the DC humidity!! The cafe on site had the most delicious pastries and coffee too!

If you’d like a 5 star experience, at least stay at the Ritz. This is a 3star hotel at most. The property has seen better days and needs to be updated and better maintained ( dirty scuffed elevators, chipped furniture, outdated rooms). Service was poor, barely any staff, valet never at his post. We checked out halfway thru our stay and booked another hotel. The only good thing was that they didn’t charge us for the rest of the stay, that was much appreciated.

They say they are 4 star but I’ve been to nicer 3 star hotel. The quality just wasn’t there, the front desk couldn’t even break a $100 for tip money. Room keys kept failing and security seem lacking but Georgetown is as safe as you get in DC.
