The nightgarden at Fairchild is a MUST
A novel assortment of visitors this past weekend at Miami's famed Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens included these witches and bats created by artist and Fairchild volunteer Bev Murphy. Her fun and funky creations, made completely from organic materials, certainly helped set the stage for upcoming Halloween festivities.
You might think I'd prefaced our encounter with the phrase, "Say cheese," before I snapped this picture of this cheeky lizard, but not so. I guess he just naturally likes to show off those pearly whites. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden offers a plethora of palms and tropical plants, orchids, butterflies, festivals, and, yes, even lizards to tickle the fancy of gardeners, horticultureists, and nature lovers alike.

Staff are great but the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Especially the pillows they are horrible. I had to use a towel as my pillow. Other hotels have feather pillows that are far more comfortable. It would be nice to have a choice. For this reason we won’t return. It’s too bad because everything else was nice.
