Loved our stay at this historic hotel. It was quite empty when we came off season but we enjoyed some good meals, a pleasant and clean setting, with a verty comfortable room and bed! Loved the optional baths experience!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Scotia Lodge. Super clean and very charming. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Learning a bit about the lodge and town made the stay special. Would love to stay there again someday!

Scotia lodge is located in a small town but it’s full of wonderful people! The lodge its self has amazing staff! The bar is amazing great drinks and the restaurant located inside is not your average hotel food well worth it! The lodge has a luxury with small town feels! We will definitely recommend you to book your stay!

Super cool. We loved everything about it! History and antiques!! Service over the top!! Not much to do in the very small town but Ferndale is only about 15 to 20 minutes away. The town of Ferndale is a must see!!

Staff were friendly but all activities/food were closed. Had to hold sink drain open for water to go down. Got a double room…it was divided and 1 room had no tv. Nobody to help with luggage, no elevator and must use stairs to pull luggage to your room.

This is a historic hotel with plenty of charm. Rooms are not air conditioned. We stayed on a day where the temperatures were in the low 60s and it was still a bit too warm in the room, although they do provide fans. Dinner was so-so with only one vegetarian option. There is a market across the street but it doesn’t have a huge selection. Closest food is miles away so keep that in mind. Again, this is an older property so rooms are not soundproofed at all. The staff is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Overall a beautiful spot but room was too warm and a bit loud.

Staying at the historic Scotia Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip! This beautifully restored 100+ year-old hotel is full of character while still offering all the modern comforts you need. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and outstanding service. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and perfectly captured the charm of the lodge's rich history. It's the perfect place to unwind after exploring the nearby redwoods and the Avenue of the Giants. Every corner of the property has a unique story, making the stay feel like stepping back in time in the best possible way. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind place to stay in Northern California, I can't recommend Scotia Lodge enough. Beautiful historic atmosphere, friendly staff, and an unforgettable experience. We'll definitely be back!

Our second stay in a week at Scotia Lodge. It was another comfortable start. Only downside this time was the restaurant was not open and the shower was warm, but not hot. Suppose that comes with the territory of a small hotel in a small town. Overall though, not enough to deter us from staying there again if traveling through the area.again. Overall, great stay and pet friendly. :)

Room was clean. Bar was great. Restaurant was terrible but staff were very apologetic. Fryer didn’t work. Chicken was unavailable. Pretty venue but view out the back was awful. Clean room. Great mattress. Tub and shower was clean and looked great but a bit disconcerting because it shifted with your weight. Windows needed screens. No coffee until after 8 in the lobby. Staff tried hard. Infrastructure needs help.
