About this property
Galilie, small gallery apartment near the Ried
Right by Lake Constance: Cozy little loft apartment in Eriskirch-Schlatt
Nearby Lake Constance, the peaceful natural surroundings of the Eriskirch Ried, the trade fair city of Friedrichshafen, the historic city of Lindau, and the hop-growing town of Tettnang —these are the diverse surroundings of this approximately 35-square-meter apartment in the Eriskirch district of Schlatt, on the border with Langenargen.
You’re in the Württemberg part of Lake Constance here, not far from the Bavarian and Austrian borders (Bregenz). Lake Constance, widely known as the “Swabian Sea,” is just a few minutes away.
The apartment itself is located on the third floor (top floor) of a well-maintained eight-unit building.
The neighborhood is quiet, as it is situated in a purely residential area away from any through traffic.
The apartment features a large room with a high ceiling and a tiled stove, as well as a cozy little wooden loft accessible via a natural wood staircase with railings on both sides. The loft is intended for sleeping and watching TV or movies in the evening (we also have Netflix and Prime). Up here, there are two beds, each measuring 1.00 x 2.00 meters; due to space constraints, they are positioned across from each other rather than side by side. Downstairs, in the main room, there is also a sleeper sofa, so that a third person can stay here in exceptional cases—or if someone prefers not to sleep upstairs. The sofa provides a sleeping area measuring 1.00 x 2.00 meters. We also have extra mattresses available in case you’re expecting guests (please let us know in advance if this is the case). The apartment is sized for one or two people. A third person, such as a child, can also stay here.
The bathroom is small but nice. It is equipped with a spacious tiled shower (overhead and handheld showerheads) as well as a sink, a toilet, and a mirror cabinet.
The partially covered balcony with an awning faces south. Here you’ll find a cozy seating area, as well as a table where you can enjoy your meals. We’ve also installed additional privacy screens and shade.
The apartment has everything you need for a pleasant stay: Wi-Fi, a De Longhi coffee machine, a “regular” coffee maker for fans of filter coffee, modern smart TVs on two sets (one downstairs and one on the loft), a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, freezer, a small dining table, and all necessary appliances (including a microwave).
If you’re visiting during the colder months: The tiled stove can be used in winter. For guests who prefer modern heating, there’s a new electric underfloor heating system. An infrared heater is also available upon request.
All windows are equipped with electric roller shutters. There is a washing machine available for your use downstairs in the laundry room. You can also hang your laundry there—there’s plenty of space. Tasteful towels and high-quality bed linens are also provided for you.
If you bring your bikes, there is storage space in the bike cellar; however, this is shared with the other residents of the building and therefore does not have a great deal of space available. You can also lock your bikes to special racks in front of the building—or, by arrangement, store them in the garage (in which case we’ll provide you with the garage key).
We’ve installed a key box for you in the underground parking garage so you can check in at any time of day or night. We’ll send you the code shortly before your arrival, as it changes regularly.
At the upper entrance to the underground garage, there is an outdoor parking space for your vehicle marked with our last name. However, guests usually don’t need it, as there are public parking spaces on the street and directly in front of the house as well as at the neighboring houses.
The apartment was completely renovated by the owner in 2023. It is therefore on par with a newly built apartment. Since the entire building complex does not have central heating, the apartment is heated with electricity. The water in the apartment is heated in the bathroom using a modern instantaneous water heater. In the kitchen, there is a small water heater under the sink that was newly installed in January 2026 by a local plumbing company. The same applies to the kitchen door—it, too, was newly installed in early 2026.
There is a second, comparable apartment next door. It is a type of duplex, as it was originally a single apartment. Both units initially share the main entrance and the main hallway. From there, the hallway branches off in two directions, leading to two completely separate, independent apartments. The balcony is located in front of both apartments—a standard balcony partition has been installed here.
During your stay, you can contact the landlord at any time by phone or via the app.
Smoking, if at all, is permitted on the balcony. For your daily needs, there’s a “Netto” supermarket and two bakeries just a two-minute walk away. For larger shopping trips, head to Eriskirch to the “Kaufland” (about a 15-minute walk). Additionally, in the neighboring town of Meckenbeuren to the north, there’s “Obstbau Haller,” which is similar to a larger farm store. You can even shop there on Sundays and holidays! By the way, you can also shop at the Aral gas station on the B31 near Kressbronn—there’s a “Rewe to go” there.
You certainly won’t go hungry here! The following restaurants and eateries are located in Eriskirch: The Italian restaurant “Da Fato” at Mariabrunnstraße 18 (within walking distance), the restaurant and pizzeria “La Rosa” at Irisstraße 13, and the “Brenner Stube” at Unterbaumgarten 3/1. At the Eriskirch beach, there’s the “Wirtshaus im Eriskircher Ried.” We’ve tried them all and were satisfied. You can also grab a kebab and other Turkish dishes at Eli’s Kebap & Pizzahaus, located at Baumgartener Str. 4. Next door, you’ll find the bistro “Kohler’s” and the Tao-Thai snack bar. Inside the Kaufland, you’ll find the Wellhäuser butcher shop, which offers lunch specials, and the Hamma bakery with a small café (the pretzels from “Hamma” are especially recommended). Just around the corner, at Schubertstraße 20, is the café “Anna’s”—also highly recommended, open Tuesday through Saturday.
Transportation connections are excellent: Eriskirch is located on Federal Highway 31 and is also connected to the rail network via the Friedrichshafen–Lindau line. The town is also served by several bus routes, including connections to Friedrichshafen, Tettnang, and Langenargen. The Friedrichshafen Regional Airport is five kilometers away.
No traffic noise can be heard from the apartment. The neighborhood of Schlatt—like the main town of Eriskirch itself—has its own exit to and from the B31. This is very convenient for arriving guests.
Dogs and other pets—just like children—are always welcome here. However, as is the case everywhere, we must be considerate of our neighbors. Therefore, we expect that dogs will not be left alone in the apartment or allowed on the beds. Since most dogs shed, we’d also really appreciate it if our guests would vacuum the apartment before they leave—and, of course, air it out.
In agreement with the property management, a dog weighing up to about 20 to 30 kilograms is fine.
Children: Always welcome—yes, we love children. However, this apartment is not suitable for very young children up to about 2–4 years old, due to the layout of the apartment (with the stairs) and the lack of safety features for very young children.
