"A great location by the river which is good for swimming. Full of interesting mill workings but a very comfortable house. Off grid electrics so the cooking facilities are a bit limited. In an isolated but beautiful valley and good walking paths ."

"Después de un incidente de avería con el vehículo, mandé a mí mujer con mis niñas en un taxi que puso el seguro, yo volví con la grúa para coger otro coche para poder continuar con el puente. A lo que vamos ellas llegaron allí y se volcaron en prepararles cenas y en hacer que se sintieran lo más cómodas posible para que no se tuvieran que buscar la vida para cenar y tal ya que el comedor lo tenían completo y era un imposible atenderlas en el restaurante, aún así sacaron tiempo de no se donde y...

"Stayed mainly to break up our journey from the Portuguese coast to the Mediterranean coast, but we were very pleased we stayed in the old town and at this hotel. They were both excellent. Beautifully appointed hotel, spacious bedroom and bathroom with lots of character. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room, unfortunately the restaurant was temporarily closed but we were able to find one within walking distance."

"We chose this for an overnight stop, with our pet furry friend, on our way from Santander to Portuguese Silver Coast. Pet friendly and self-catering appealed to us. The communication and the welcome to the lovely property, from Sandra, was exceptional. She went out of her way to show us the accommodation and walk us through the pretty village to the local restaurant, telling us a little about the place as we went. The property is immaculate and very cosy with everything you need for a short stay. We would have happily stayed longer and will certainly visit again. The staff at the restaurant were lovely too and the food was excellent and worth the little extra we paid. It's not the cheapest Portuguese restaurant but quite a surprising find in such a small village. We can recommend the steak and the bacalhau. We were very happy with our stay and will return there on our homeward journey. Thank you for the kindness and the welcome we received. "
