To he rooms were great. Very nice, very comfortable. The problem with this place is it stange, atypical, not normal. The hotel is essentially spread out in a conference center/dorm. This is ok but they should have more signs with information. Also parking is with the University about $15 per day, but you need to research to not accidentally pay much more. Still I enjoyed me stay. Just wonder how many people never find the front desk. I marked the device low only for this. Otherwise great friendly service.
Good, clean room, comfy bed, convenient location for our stay, no complaints about the room. Staff was friendly and thoroughly helpful. I’d stay here again in the future if my travels brought me back to Edmonton. Paid parking would be my only complaint.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I like the convenience there. The hotel is next to the conference rooms. But the internet is very slow for the guest account. I can't even use VPN.
It is very difficult to find it is hidden building hard to see not advertisement. Those are super hot dorms the only good there is the friendly staff and the soap.
Location was great for us as we had to spend the weekend on campus. However, the pullout couch was so worn out that one of us ended up sleeping on the floor as it was more comfortable that way. And on one side of the bed's mattress, it felt like there was a rip on the mat. And the room was way overheated. But check-in and check out was easy and the staff was really nice. And it is super quiey. We did not hear our neighbors at all.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Staff & service
Decent, no frills accommodation
Not bad for the price. Basic, basic, basic - but comfortable bed and good shower. Virtually no one there to assist with anything, but otherwise okay. I'd stay again on my own, but not with family members.
Hotel staff were very pleasant. Location was very convenient. Ample parking.

Not comfortable
Not comfortable at all. Hard bed with plastic cover. Not good. Can't adjust air conditioner. Had a fan but not good. No TV in the room. Good is it's close to the hospital and Kaye clinic. Safe. Add $15 to the rate for parking.
I went to university at U of A years ago and remarkably this was the first time I ever set foot in Lister Hall. This is exactly what you would expect from student res. It is functional, spartan and has just what you need.
I stayed in a twin room which was small but still was roomy. The twin bed had fresh sheets that you needed to put on the bed. There were towels and packaged soap provided, and more available if necessary. Bathroom was small but everything worked great. Be forewarned, no tv.
The building floor had a social room if you needed more space. There was a shared kitched with fridges and microwaves. I didn't see any cutlery or pot, pans or dishes. There was dish soap.
Next to the kitchen was a laundry room with one washer and two dryers. Didn't see any soap available or for sale. You'll need a U of A swipe card to pay for the machine but I expect they are easy to get. Check with the desk.
The building had places to eat and a Timmy's for coffee. There are restaurants a few blocks east or on campus.
If you drive you can find all day parking on campus for $15. Parking at res may cost a bit more.
If you don't drive this is a good hub of transit options with access to the city trains at the university. It appears the airport shuttle will pick up there as well. There are tv monitors with all of the transit info on the main floor.
The "hotel" I stayed at is actually a student dormitory 9 months per year. During the summer months, the building houses summer students and conference attendees. Each room had its own private washroom with shower, a large closet with shelves and hangars, a desk with shelves and drawers, a chair, and a bed consisting of a 6-inch-thick mattress lying on top of a wooden frame with more drawers for clothes. The mattress was about 3 feet by 6.5 feet, i.e. room for one person but not two. No TV, radio, or alarm clock. But Yes, there was free Wi-Fi. There is heating but not air conditioning. I was there in Edmonton the one week of the year where it got warm enough to make air conditioning highly desirable, but the housing staff loaned me a fan, and that helped make the room tolerable. The doors have deadbolts instead of automatically locking door-latches, so locking myself out of my room accidentally was not a risk. Room Service knocked on my door my first full day there, and I said No Thanks, and either they never came back or they couldn't get in because of the deadbolt. At the floor entrance from the elevator, there was a table stocked with extras of clean towels, soap bars, and plastic-wrapped drinking glasses. Like the title of my review indicates, the accommodations were free of frills, but I think they were more than adequate for the really cheap price I paid per night.
I was attending a Conference at the Lister Center so having my hotel room in the same building was extremely convenient. The room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quite warm but there were two fans in the room that allowed me to control the temperature. I would definitely stay here again.
The rooms had no issue , no issue with my stay as well. But when I reached for a checkin the staff asked for my credit card just for pre authorisation, I had no clue he would tap the card without me knowing that there was a deposit amount to be paid. I had no issue paying it but I was not aware until I checked for my card details. I had to call after my checkout to confirm all the details .
