Great location, friendly staff. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The location was excellent for our visit to the Fringe and our favourite place, the Grassmarket was two minutes away. The room was rather warm but opening the window onto the main street brought in a fair bit of noise. The shower/toilet rooms were clean. However, the shower was fixed with no scope for movement, and the spray went right over me, without really getting me wet (I'm 5'1" tall or should I say short).

Very very noisy at night every single day of the week from the pub across street. With windows closed won’t help. Mixed info was also given, friendly guy staff mentioned can use toaster for own bread brought from supermarket but next morning an Indian girl staff said no, unless pay for breakfast service. Location is the only positive thing to walk around old town and new town by foot.

Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, so close to everything. Could use a bathroom rug, and perhaps a desk or chair in the room. Loud night club cross the window, but mostly just the sat night.

Good for those passing thru if you're under 30yo. Staff was as helpful as you pay for. I unknowingly booked during a festival and bathrooms could have been better keep up with. Had issues with other guests staying in my assigned bunk before me. Overall, you get what you paid for. I recommend if you are on a budget and just passing through for a day or 2 and it's yards away from food and shops, but other than that if you can spend the extra cash on a better hotel do it.

We had a four person (two bunk) room with basic en suite facilities for the same price as a room in a good 5 star London hotel. Appalling value for money for a hostel. Not sure how they justify the exceptionally high pricing.

I do recommend this hostel. It is in old town, Edinburgh, and it was awesome. The location is good. You will really enjoy it. The only thing I didn’t like is the way the showers they were facing the wall a very hard to get wet.

Clean rooms and helpful staff. Bedding was clean. Rooms were quiet and secure. Bunk beds aren’t bad, but the ladders to the top bunks are pretty narrow, making it difficult to get down from. Hallways are a bit narrow, but it’s in an old building. The location is fine, it’s on the lower street so you have a few young drunk people walking around late at night. Shops are nearby. Overall an enjoyable stay.

The rooms were clean and I like that the beds felt semi private since it covers your face. It is ideal to get a room with a private bathroom. The public one, I felt exposed since the top of the stall is open and both genders use it and it feels a bit dirty. It is very loud at night with the bar so bring ear plugs. The road to get to the front of the building feels desolate but when you turn the into the main corner of the street there are lots of stores to shop around.
