Cosy cottage located in the rural setting of Lasswade within 25 minute drive to Edinburgh City Centre. Sleeps up to 4. One double bedroom and a futon style sofa bed that can sleep an additional 2 guests in the sitting room. When linen is required for any guests for the sofa bed this will be charged as an extra. (Please note this is charged on booking). Comfortable sitting room with sofa bed, double bedroom, shower room, kitchen, dining area and private patio herb garden.

Absolutely lovely cottage, even more space than expected and with lots of thoughtful touches to add to our stay. We had a car and found it quick and easy to drive to the park-n-ride to catch the train, or to drive directly into the city. The area around the cottage is beautiful and very nice for a short walk. Thank you for the warm welcome, and we will 100% book this cottage again for future trips!

A gorgeous old cottage fitted out with everything you need including a washing machine. Good to stay out of the city of Edinburgh but close enough to commute by train if you have a car and use the free park and ride.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour ! Il est facile d’aller en centre ville avec le bus, il y a un supermarché pas loin. Le logement est meublé avec goût. Merci pour le lait frais !

Fabulous Cottage for our stay!

My family and I had a lovely time at the cottage. It was easy to find and sits in a beautiful setting. It was peaceful and cosy and charming. It's easy reach to Edinburgh also. I did a gorgeous local walk along the river and beyond. We felt very relaxed and at home and wished we could have stayed longer!

Lovely hideaway in Midlothian

We had a great time in this little cottage, which was close to both nature and the City. We appreciated the on-site laundry. The owners were helpful and check-in was a breeze. We will hopefully be booking again the next time we’re in Scotland.

We had the absolute loveliest weekend staying in this charming little cottage. The place is cosy, full of character, and has that beautiful charm that instantly makes you feel at home. Every little detail felt thoughtful, and it was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the quiet after exploring the city. Victor was the kindest and most welcoming host—he truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell he cares deeply about the space and his guests, which made our stay even more special. Highly recommend this sweet gem if you’re looking for something a little more personal and peaceful during your time in Edinburgh. We’d happily come back!

The cottage is so well setup for a comfortable stay, especially for a couple. Carina & Victor have done a lovely job with the furnishings and stylish decor. The bed is comfortabe and the kitchen downstairs has everything you need to self cater. We enjoyed catching the train to Edinburgh from Esbank station, which is a short drive with free parking. Highly recommend.

Ireland and Scotland trip of a lifetime.

We found the cottage to be a very interesting design of the outwardly past century and inwardly modern. Victor and Carina have made the cottage a cosy place to land. The area was so delightful. We walked along tracks that took us to bubbling steams. So much flora and sunshine. Easily went on the train to Edinburgh a couple of times.

Een heerlijk verblijf in het cottage van Carina&Victor. Huis is zeer verrassend en comfortabel. Met smaak ingericht. Bushalte is dichtbij en binnen een half uur sta je in het centrum van Edinburgh. We had a great 2 night stay. The cottage is very well equipped with all the basic necessities you need. It’s in a quiet location which was nice to come back to after spending a whole day in the city. We used Ubers to get back and forth which we had no issues or long wait times considering the location. We would most definitely return. Thank you!!

Great stay!

The hosts were very nice, greeted us when we arrived, even though we arrived very late. They had some milk in the fridge for our morning tea and coffee which was very thoughtfull. After that first greeting we really didnt see much of them. Which was also very thoughtfull, we were in our little vacation world. They wer also very quick to respond to all communication. The cottage itself was very clean and very well kept. It had everything we needed. The directions for internet, trash removal, and transprotaion areound the area were all very clear and helpful. There were three of us. I stayed on the futon sofa and the other two had the bedroom. It was a very comfortable stay.

Only one bed,!

The cottage is very nice. It is on two levels, the kitchen/dining is down quite a steep staircase that I found difficult to negotiate. I'm nearly 70 and my daughter fast approaching 50, so not spring chickens! If you want to use the sofa as a bed there is a 35 pound charge for linen that isn't made clear when booking. We both slept in the one bed which was fine. Extra charges should be mAde clear on booking and the fact it only has one bedroom was disappointing. Otherwise nice place if somewhat difficult to get to.
