Start your mornings with coffee in the multi-level yard, where you’ll find quiet spots to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding bluffs. Just a 3-minute walk brings you to the Mississippi River, and you’re only a short drive from the Lynxville Dam and several convenient boat launches—perfect for fishing, boating, or simply soaking in the river’s beauty.

Inside, you’ll find a fully furnished retreat designed for comfort and fun. Enjoy:

Perfect first stop on our road trip!

This was such a cute little spot to stop over for our road trip! The record player was awesome and the view of the river is beautiful! We loved being able to bring along our senior dog, Penny! Would stay again.

Great place to stay

Cozy cottage in the bluffs with a nice view of the Mississippi. The hosts provide great amenities not provided by most. Stay at least 2 nights!

Cute cabin by the Mississippi

The Hideaway was perfect for our anniversary excursion. It's close to state parks and there are a variety of restaurants in the area. The property is clean, modern, and so cute! We loved the fire pit area outside. The bed was very comfortable and huge! Wendy was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for birdwatchers!

Cute little house tucked into the side of the Bluff - we knew the surrounding area offered a lot of nature to explore but didn't expect it in the backyard too! So many different species of birds and a beautiful view to boot!

Sweet, inspiring place to stay

My husband and I, and our pup stayed two nights for my birthday weekend. Wow - what a sweet, beautiful and inspiring place to stay. Everything you need and then some is provided, many thoughtful extra touches that really made a difference. Unique rock collections are my jam - looking through those was so fun. Thank you for being a part of such a great weekend getaway! Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful piece of calm @ the Hygge Hideaway!

Met a friend for Christmas baking-palooza the weekend before Christmas @ the Hygge Hideaway…it provided everything we needed for our baking marathon, and then some…what a beautiful location overlooking the mighty Mississippi River and what a peaceful & cozy cottage this is! Communications with the host were always easy & quick, and they were accommodating to our needs. We will definitely return to this hideaway, which sits halfway between the miles that separate us, and look forward to new memories each time we visit! Thanks, Wendy!

Very Pleased with Hygge Hideaway

We were very pleased with Hygge Hideaway from our arrival through our departure. Beautiful inside and out, the perfect place for the two of us. The river view is fantastic. We enjoyed touring the area, ate in Prairie du Chein at Fort Mulligan's for lunch one day, and golfing in Viroqua. Thank you Wendy Clemmerson. Being a detail-oriented person, there was not one thing lacking! Very enjoyable.

Nice Stay

We rented the cottage for a weekend bday getaway. We had a good time. We really enjoyed the beautiful outdoor area and the furniture was super comfortable. We did have an issue with millipedes during our stay. There were so many that they were crunching under my feet while walking to the restroom in the middle of the night. We quickly learned to keep shoes on, but this did take away from the stay for me.

Stayed here for a weekend of UTVing. Great location in the bluffs of the Mississippi River. Unique property with a nice updated home. Very comfortable bed and had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Easy drive to some good restaurants. Host was outstanding. We really enjoyed staying here!

Cozy spot by the river

This was our second time staying here and we loved it again! Just a short walk to the river, which is visible from the bedroom. The bed is so comfy and the hosts have thought of everything you might need. We loved the snacks! If you like corn dogs, don't miss the Dawg House down the road!

Birthday Getaway

We stayed at the Hygge Hideaway for my husband's 75th birthday. It is a cozy place nestled in a quiet neighborhood, with lots of birds around and beautiful scenery. Definitely a place for nature lovers! The location is a short drive to parks in both Iowa and Wisconsin, which we loved. The Hideaway was well stocked with everything we could have wanted or needed, and we appreciated the attention to detail. It is very thoughtfully cared for and laid out!

Thoughtful little cottage

This was the perfect homebase, and the decor is the perfect embodiment of "Rustic Chic." Every detail was thought of, and appreciated. I'm a travel writer and I've stayed a lot of places. This is a spot that truly makes you feel like home away from home. And everything was perfectly dog friendly. I also feel like whoever did the remodeling job deserves a referral of some kind!

Great Weekend Getaway Spot!

This is a great spot for a weekend getaway! It has a cozy little cabin feel to it! It was very clean and easy to access. The hosts are wonderful and make it easy to check in and out! The neighborhood is quiet and quaint! We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
