We spent a long weekend at Baker House 1650 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was a beautiful property with Tasteful decorations and fine details. The common living room Area was absolutely beautiful with natural light flooding in and a fireplace. The service at this hotel was probably one of the best things that they possess as they were kind enough to arrange a surprise gift for my husband in the room as well as several restaurants and other small things. The room is stayed in was beautifully appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The fireplace in the room was very convenient to use and added a nice atmosphere and warmth to the room. The room did have noise from the traffic because it was facing the street. There were some things that could be improved given the age of the property, for example, the bathroom door did not completely close but it did not affect our stay overall. The breakfast was delicious and the location was convenient enough to walk into the village. We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this property to any of our friends. Thank you for making our special weekend even more special!
All aspects of our trip were great. The staff is incredibly nice, bringing luxury to the next level. Worth every penny. The grounds were beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and surprisingly the mini-bar was not overpriced.
Beautiful establishment. Superbly maintained. Wonderful, friendly staff.
From the greeting at check-in, to breakfast each morning, to check-out everyone makes you feel warm and welcome. Even in the snow staff were wonderful keeping paths clear, salted, walkable.
You sink into the history of the place and the modern amenities overall are perfectly done so as not to take away from the aesthetics around you.
This is a place to go to catch your breath, relax, unwind. From the room to the common areas, to the grounds, there are plenty of comfortable places to roam. The amazing spa on the lower level is fantastic offering a variety of services.
This also was a perfect place to stay mere minutes away from the nearby shops, restaurants, and the vineyard we visited.
Their website represents the property very well. I easily recommend the Baker House to anyone looking for a special B&B experience.
My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a quiet and relaxing getaway weekend for his birthday. We picked the Baker House because of the good reviews, the location, and the spa.
When we arrived a very nice woman checked us in and gave us a tour. She let us know that the spa was available when there were no treatments going on (we were a bit disappointed because the website said people have the option of booking the spa for private use, not that all spa services would be private and thus guests could not use the space at the time). She let us know that the next day the spa was reserved from 10-4pm and that it was free after that. We planed our day accordingly and got back to the hotel around 4:30 and headed down to the spa soon thereafter. It turned out the spa was booked until 7pm. Last minute reservations happen so we said that's fine, we will come back after dinner. On our way to dinner we asked what time the spa closed and we were told 10pm. We arrived back from dinner and headed to the spa around 8:45pm only to find it closed. My boyfriend inquired and was told the spa closed at 9pm. When we checked out the next morning we complained about the misinformation and we were not given an apology.
Also, there was turn down service one evening but not the next. Inconsistent service.
My wife and I spent a night at the Baker House to celebrate our anniversary. Absolutely awesome experience! Even though we live on Long Island, we felt like we were a world away. Karen at the front desk couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We didn't take advantage of the spa, but definitely will next time.
Warm welcome during a winter blizzard! Baker House staff were friendly and helpful. Working by a firer place was stunning during the snow fall as we got stuck inside
As a gift for my father's 75th birthday, I booked a two night stay for my parents. The staff couldn't have been nicer and attentive to them. My parent's felt like it was a second honeymoon. They loved everything about the experience. Top notch on every detail.
