"Didn't stay. Checked and and given room key to a room which was already occupied. Entered room and walked in on other guests. Given another room which was lesser standard than first room. Duty manager was difficult and argumentative. Left the hotel and stayed elsewhere "

"The staff were so nice, really friendly and helpful. We had evening meal and breakfast and they were both great. The pool was fine, had a nice swim, jacuzzi and steam room. The let down was the room hadn’t been cleaned, there were still balloons in the room and leaves in the bath, half a toilet roll from previous guests. Also we got charged 4 different prices at the bar for drinks and a large Chardonnay was £15.95 for a glass, not a bottle, which we found extortionate…"

"Lovely house with plenty of room for a family party. Well equipped. We enjoyed the garden too, we had a dog with us.We enjoyed exploring the area, the autumn colours plus visits to the zoo and railway museum.Thank you to our host for helping when one of our party fell ill.Overall a very good stay, highly recommended "

"Good comms but lacked basics, half a toilet roll between 4 adults? Travel size kettle, no grill pan. Location was the most important for us to get to chelmsford, but definitely needs better basics"
