Purple Juniper: Heart of Downtown, Sunny Front Deck

With the Purple Juniper as your home base in Durango, you will be able to park your car and walk everywhere in town. Walk four blocks and arrive at the heart of downtown with its restaurants, cafes, shops and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

The Purple Juniper is an intimate and inviting half-duplex facing a quiet, sunny neighborhood street. It is cozy with an open floor plan and updated bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen and living room are connected by a granite island with three seats. Additional dining seating in warmer months is a four-seat table on the front deck. The bedrooms have a queen bed in one room and two twins in the second room. All beds are solid, plush and comfortable. A good night's sleep is key! Evaporative cooling in the Summer additionally provides for restful nights.

In addition to Main Avenue and downtown, walk several blocks to the Nature Trail and Sky Steps. The neighborhood is pedestrian and dog-friendly, and the block on which the Purple Juniper resides is especially quiet and peaceful.

Guests are welcome to bring two pups, provided they stay off of furniture and aren't big barkers. No cats (sorry). Note that immediately after booking, you will receive a brief rental agreement to review and sign with basic items such as no parties or events and pet authorization if applicable.

Two things to consider in deciding whether this home is ideal for your family. First, it is a cozy space with 650 SF total. Second, the Purple Juniper does not have a yard. The other half of the duplex, which is a monthly rental, has a yard, but it is dedicated to that other other half. Likewise, the Purple Juniper has dedicated use of the front deck. This allows for privacy and ease for each of the homes. It means as well, however, that staying at the Purple Juniper with pups involves taking them out for walks, not an unpleasant task in the pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, but worth considering.

We loved Purple Juniper! It was an easy to everything. The street is quiet and pretty, we enjoyed sitting out on the front porch. The house is spacious and clean. We will definitely look to book here again next time we're back in Durango!

Excellent experience in this cozy, comfy home, located directly in between downtown and Fort Lewis College. Easy 5-minute drive to campus or 5 minute walk to downtown. We were delighted by the cute and quiet neighborhood, which we enjoyed from the front deck. Ample on-street parking made it easy to carry bags in and out. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, and I really appreciated that the host takes care of the trash and laundry so I don't have to!

Great location

This property is in great proximity to historic downtown Durango. A short walk to shopping, breweries and many restaurants. Only downside was the cleanliness was not great - but still a good rental.

Perfect location

We really enjoyed our stay at the Purple Juniper home. It really is just a short walk or bike away from most things to do in Durango. We had easy access to all the local shopping and restaurants. The Durango to Silverton Narrow gauge train was also a short distance away. The property was as advertised: having all your vacation needs and spacious enough for 3 adults to spend most of a week here without stepping on each other's toes. The property manager, Victoria, was super friendly and helpful with all of my questions before and during my stay.

Purple Juniper- A Cozy Stay

Purple Juniper was simply lovely, a cozy 2 BR, 1 Bath home located on a quiet street in downtown Durango and easily walkable to all of Main Street's attractions, including the train station. It was a perfect base for "Grandma Camp" activities with our 7 year- old grandson, which included a ride on the historic train.The front deck was perfect seating for two home-cooked dinners while basking in the late April sunshine. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, our Hostess was friendly and responsive, and the contactless check-in process could not have been easier. We will definitely return here on oir next trip to Durango.

Really wonderful stay, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to everything

We really loved this place -- extremely ideal location within walking distance to co-op, Main Street restaurants/shopping, super quiet neighborhood with gorgeous fall leaves at the time of our stay. Really comfortable beds and well-stocked kitchen with all the basics you may need in a pinch (sugar, plastic baggies, plastic utensils). Perfect family vacation spot or couples looking for a quiet weekend away. We will be back! Thank you!

We stayed at Purple Juniper to visit my daughter who is a student at Fort Lewis. The house was perfect...clean, very well-stocked, fabulous location. Very convenient for my daughter to drive down the hill to visit us. Easy walk to Main Street and all the fun shops and restaurants in downtown Durango. Home Slice Pizza is right down the street - delicious pizza. We also enjoyed sushi at East by Southwest - another easy walk. Highly recommend this home for a great Durango visit.
