Nearby publicly accessible lakes include: Twilight Lake (1mi), Haviland Lake (7mi), Andrews Lake (16mi), Molas Lake (18mi) and Lake Nighthorse (31mi). All are stocked with Trout. Twilight and Molas Lakes have kayak rentals during the summer season.

The gravel neighborhood road is at a 7% incline at the entrance to the driveway and stays icy all winter--4WD/AWD is required to come and go safely all winter and chains on-hand are recommended in case a snowstorm hits during your stay, as neighborhood snow plowing is only once every 24 hours or less. Local chains available at Purgatorychains dc. •E-signed rental agreement required within 72 hours of booking •$500 security deposit hold collected by host 2 days prior to arrival •Pets permitted with host approval ($100 per pet, max 2). •NO SMOKING, fireworks, campfires anywhere on the property. •Follow septic instructions on posted signs. •No food on couches/beds. Keep food contained to kitchen/dining/porch areas only please. •There is no trash pick up at this property. Trash must be taken to the neighborhood dumpster. •No events or parties. •Primary renter must be present during stay. Max overnight guests 12 unless prior approval by host. •CHECKOUT: lock doors, close windows, start dishwasher, strip bunk bed sheets. •Follow all check-in and checkout instructions. •Leave no trace: do not alter any of the trees, plants, flowers, or landscaping on our property or nearby National Forest. Stay off of others' private property. •Bears and other wildlife could be present, never leave food outside, lock vehicles. •Ring doorbell video camera at front door. Video camera mounted to front of the house to monitor the driveway. •Check the weather for Purgatory Resort which can be much different than the town of Durango. •Please note that you will be staying at a high altitude environment, elevation is ~8900 ft. Take it easy when you arrive.
