A Perfect Escape at Valley of the Rainbow
Our stay at Valley of the Rainbow was absolutely fantastic! While there was no cellphone signal or WiFi at the chalet, it was a welcome break from technology—exactly what we needed to truly unwind. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking, making it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature.
We had an amazing time exploring the trail walk, which offered stunning views, and even tried our hand at fly fishing. Manie was an excellent teacher, and thanks to him, I picked up some great techniques.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a place to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature at its finest, Rainbow is the perfect getaway!

From the moment you walk in Santi was so welcoming with a warm smile and ever willing to assist.
Superbe établissement dans un coin de verdure et de calme absolu. Extérieurs tres bien tenus et agreable.
Chambre soignée, cuisine appliquée, personnel attentif.
Manque 1 signalétique pour trouver la route quand on vient de Joburg.
Fantastic serene getaway location secluded in the rolling hills. We were able to totally decompress and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves laid back fishing. The meals were also delicious and gourmet
We stayed at log cabin no. 1. A two minute walk from an exquisite outcrop of aloes (greens, pinks, reds, purples) hanging from a cliff face above a streamlet; and behind, sun-drenched hillsides covered in golden grass.
The cabin itself was extremely comfortable: a warm wood-burning stove, outdoor gas cooker, microwave, etc. Very good design incorporating a deck overlooking the stream and shielded from wind by the hills.
Only issue: the shower had two settings - scalding and icy. This was mosiy made up for by a deep, warm tub.
We only stayed one night en route to Dullstroom - excellent for a slightly longer stay if you crave privacy, quiet and natural beauty. (Very cold in winter: spring is probably awesome. )
Friendly & helpful managing couple; excellent breakfast; beautiful natural setting & mountain vista - great trout dams & interesting old water Mill with historical ties back to the Anglo/Boer War days
