Climb the steps of Mt. Baldhead Park for sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the charming harbor town below. Spend afternoons exploring Douglas Beach or browsing the art galleries and boutiques along Center Street's historic downtown.
My bf and I had an amazing time at this motel. The place looks exactly like the pictures and everyone was so nice. Stacy checked us in and asked if we had any questions, needed any recommendations, etc.- this definitely made us feel instantly welcomed. The room was nice and neat- it even included a retro microwave & fridge!

Walt was great at check-in and was very conversational. We had wished the other property he owns had been opened during the off-season. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The pillows were very nice and loved the remodeling of the bathroom area. We noticed that the wall where the towels are needs some paint, but that is it. You can tell that lots of care goes into this place.

This is a lovely B&B with a friendly, accommodating staff and an absolutely perfect location in Saugatuck. Walk a short block past the park and you're in the shopping district. Walk a block the other direction and you're at the Kalamazoo River. Breakfasts were very satisfying and served with casual elegance, rooms were comfortable, light and airy. A few "quirky" characteristics (that one would expect given the age of the establishment - uneven floor in places, etc.) only added to the...

The B&B was in the most perfect location, just one block from downtown Saugatuck. The Inn’s breakfast was fantastic. We stayed in the Lily room which had it’s own bathroom. The yard is set up with small tables and chairs for a lovely respite anytime of the day. We drank wine in the evening and watched the birds in and out of the many feeders.

Lovely setting and beautifully outfitted room. Second floor up stairs. Hosts Jude and Bob were so welcoming and friendly! They both added to our weekend with friends. Room was comfy and nicely sized. Bathroom clean and nice walk in shower. We stayed in the Chamonix room. Breakfasts were delicious and homemade. Excellent stay! Will definitely go back to the Black River Inn!

My husband and I planned an impromptu trip to South Haven with our 2 small dogs. ! We hit the jackpot with selecting the right place. Todd was a great resource, answering our questions, giving recommendations and playing host during the weekend happy hour and making breakfast. We can’t wait to come back. Our room was just right. We had a King room. The hotel is very charming!
