Excellence Oyster Bay - Adults Only All Inclusive

"The resort is beautiful and very clean, which is extremely important to my wife and me. We spent most of our week at the Club Level pool, and that part of the experience was truly delightful. The downside was the maid service. Our room wasn’t cleaned until around 5 PM, which is unacceptable for a resort at this level. Even stranger, the turn‑down service came only about 90 minutes after the late cleaning. After multiple complaints, the schedule was finally corrected on the third day, and the room was cleaned in the late morning as it should be. The food was adequate at best — nothing particularly memorable. Another disappointment was the ocean. the beach chairs and services were delightful; however, the water wasn’t really usable during our stay because of the seaweed buildup along the shoreline, which made it unappealing to go in. We ended up using the pool almost the entire time. The initial check‑in experience also missed the mark. It didn’t feel welcoming; we had to wait on the driveway for a bellhop to register us with 20 other people, then take a short golf‑cart ride to the Club Level check‑in area. Our room wasn’t ready until about 4:30–5:00 PM. Once we finally got into the room, it was excellent. We had a fantastic oceanfront view from Building 5 with nothing blocking us. Overall, it’s a beautiful property with great views and amenities, but several service issues took away from the experience."

Hotel Riu Ocho Rios - All Inclusive

"I have been at better all-inclusive resorts than Riu Ocho Rios. They advertise 24/7 all inclusive resort. That is false advertising, no room service. There are very few employees that are pleasant with customers at the restaurants. When I checked in I asked if the two rooms were had conjoining doors and I was told yes but they were not. Building 4 is the building for families and there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs, because front desk said we can just take our luggage. In one of the rooms the weather stripping was falling off and the door wouldn’t latch closed. In other room the toilet wouldn’t flush. There was ants and bugs in both rooms because the weather stripping was not existent on bottom of doors. Life Guard at pool was rude. He wasn’t even sitting in his chair where he could see pool, it was windy and one of the girls was spraying on sun screen and he told her she needed to walk away from pool to spray on sunscreen rather than him moving to where he should be sitting. Overall I would never stay at this hotel again. Paid a lot of money for this trip and don’t think the accommodations were worth what I paid."

"Positives Staff - The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Grounds - Immaculate Activities - There are many activities to choose from. You literally cant be bored unless you want to be. Food - They have a wide variety each day Negatives: Rooms - Looks and feels average. There was nothing special about it. Room Service - The quantity of itiems placed in the room fell short as if they didbt expect us. Food - While they had a wide variety, the food tasted like it could be better seasoned."

"Overall had a really good experience at this resort. I wish my room was more accessible inside (only had one working electrical socket) and it was a bit cleaner (had a smell to it). Staff was nice and welcoming and the food was yummyyyy especially for my African American taste buds lol I would stay here again for sure!"
