Brilliant property in awesome area

An absolutely amazing base for exploring Detroit and the surrounding area, absolutely perfect for a decently sized group (we had 5 adults and an infant in ours). We were in town to visit family in Royal Oak, so this became a perfect location for us. Located in a quiet and charming suburb this house is close enough to major roads that you'll have no problems getting around. Also close enough to plenty of grocery stores and food so that you'll never have a problem eating or drinking. The house itself is nicely appointed and well set up for your stay, and the owner is just an amazingly nice guy who was all too happy to make sure I had plenty of ways to contact him during my stay. We did end up spending a lot of time hanging out on the back deck, grilling and relaxing. The driveway is huge with plenty of room for a number of vehicles. We'll definitely be looking at this place again next time we're in town, particularly if it's a decently sized group again.

Quite and cozy

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. They enjoyed the game room. We wre right down street from my husband aunt in Southfield..This is a great location to airport and also to Warren. When ever we return we most definitely will keep this home in mind.. Thanks for making our stay there safe and secured Marvin..

Great home in a great neighborhood!

We had a great time and experience staying in this home. We were very comfortable and the house had everything we needed. We really enjoyed all the large TVs in every room! We would definitely stay there again !

Home away from home

Everything went smoothly. With the exception of practical electrical outage ( switch did not affect our stay) we felt like we were at home. There was plenty of room and seating for 6.

Best, stay, EVER!

The pictures on the site do NOT do this house justice. Slight hiccup with getting in once I got there, but Marvin was on top of it RIGHT AWAY. I almost called him to ask if he'd be interested in selling LOL. Plenty of room for my group and adequate privacy when needed. If you're looking for a place to stay during your vacation, I highly HIGHLY recommend splurging on this place. And to walk in and see an entire game room was an AWESOME surprise. Everything we needed to make this place feel like home was available. Even down to the umbrella when it started to storm lol. Marvin was amazing and absolutely ready and willing to address ANY issues with the property and was very easy to reach. I can't say enough about this house honestly. You just have to see it for yourself.

Great House Layout

Overall the property was great and more than enough room for everybody. The host was welcoming. The only thing I would say is we did have to go out and get our own toilet paper and paper towels as we ran out and could not find any more. Other than that would highly recommend this place to a friend

Not what we were expecting

If you're looking for a house with big TV's in every room, this is the place to rent. Our experience : 1) The pictures on the web site used a light filter to make the rooms much brighter than they actually are. The comments/rules state "No events, parties or large gatherings" so we thought it would be a great place for our family. However, the house has a "party" atmosphere - red light in porch light, red tube lighting along the base of the downstairs hallway leading to the 1/2 bath, white tube lighting along the base boards of the living room, alcoholic bottles displayed a wall in the kitchen eating area, shot glasses, beer glasses and cocktail glasses in the cabinets. 2) We were unable to access the rental because the code was incorrect and the door knob was locked. The rental instructions specifically stated "refrain from locking the lock on the bottom of the door, otherwise guests may be locked out." We left messages w/Marvin Jackson and he said he had the dates mixed up and didn't realize we were going to arrive that day. 3) The evening of our arrival, after having dinner and visiting with family at their home we went back to our rental. This is what we experienced: Our daughter-in-law and sons' bed sheets had 3 hairs in it. The toilet in the upstairs hall bathroom was dirty. Our daughter-in-law wiped it down with cleansing wipes. The hand towel in the bathroom of the master bedroom had been used by someone else. The upstairs floors and rugs had not been swept/vacuumed very well. The stairs had not been vacuumed at all. The rug in the entry hall was dirty. 4) The next morning we got up and swept the upstairs and vacuumed the stairs, before we went to our family gathering. At this family gathering it was suggested that we stay at a local hotel. When we went back to the rental that afternoon we packed up our things and left. We can provide hotel receipts. 5) No coffee, no toaster. 6) After leaving the rental I logged into my email to look at the "house rules" and realized the only thing we did not do was take the trash outside. However, we did put any trash we found (there were price tags and small pieces of paper) in the kitchen trash can.

Terrific

I was in town on business for four days and I must say, Marvin is an excellent host. I’ve stayed in a lot of different homes over the years & was very impressed with how nice his was. If I’m ever in that area again, Marvin’s home is at the top of my list for places to stay.

Clean, quiet with all amenities

The place is spotless. Owner met us, pointed everything out and even got some supplies for us since we didn't have a car. Well appointed and comfortable furniture, modern appliances, perfect temperature control. Three BR, four beds big screen TVs everywhere and a great billiards room and deck. I only wish we had more time to enjoy (business trip). Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Awesome property - unexpected surprises everywhere!

We were so thankful to arrive at such a well furnished and stylish home after a long trip. Marvin greeted us, gave us a tour of the house, which is awesome by the way, and gave us some recommendations on where to eat later on that night. He was available to us for any questions anytime, and was a very gracious host. Do not hesitate to book this home. There are very cool unexpected surprises inside the home, making it fun for everyone of all ages, and Marvin could not have been more welcoming and kind. Five stars all the way around !
