Staff was nice, room was decently clean. We got 2 super small bottles of hair conditioner. No soap so had to go to a nearby store to get body wash. Parking felt safe and was well lit at night.

Overall 5/10. The building is old and therefore has some old building problems so I’m not going to discredit the owners for that. This hotel is rather inexpensive which I appreciated and the staff were nice. The hotel was dirty and the room wasn’t great either. There were burn marks on the nightstand and whoever reserved the room before us had tampered with the smoke detector. The sheets were clean and bug free, which is why we chose to stay instead of going somewhere else.

The staff were very polite and welcoming, and I appreciated their kindness during my stay. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the hotel was disappointing. There was a strong unpleasant smell throughout the property, and there were people smoking drugs around the hotel, which made the environment uncomfortable and the odor even worse. Saw two police officers in the hotel investigating something. The room itself was very small, and basic amenities were lacking. There wasn’t enough shampoo or soap provided. While the staff were great, the cleanliness, smell, and surrounding environment made the stay far from ideal.

I didn't expect much for the price point, but the property and room I was given were just very dirty and most of the rooms amenities were decrepid and at or over their respective lifecycle (i.e. a/c barely worked and was also caked with dust). The room was clearly not swept at all, there was garbage and bottles under the bed and night stand, the toilet was dirty, the shower was in poor condition with missing tiles and what appeared to be potential mold in areas, and the mattress was gross (but I guess the sheets/blanket were okay?). I guess the only positive I could state about the overall condition of the room was, as far as I could tell, there weren't any bugs. The price was cheap but honestly should have been even cheaper for what it was. I've stayed in some semi-sketchy hotels before and this one is among the worst, although I'll give some credit that there are probably worse hotels out there and the staff seemed decent enough. I just needed a place to crash for the night last minute. Anyway, the general consensus based on other reviews are in fact accurate unfortunately and not people just being overly critical or harsh. Due to all these reasons, I simply cannot recommend this property for others to stay, and I'll never come back again. Saved a little bit of money opting for a cheaper stay and got what I paid for, I guess. Wish I would have just shelled out the extra cash and got a more comfortable room. Lesson learned.

We ended up not staying. We didn't feel safe in that area. We didn't feel comfortable parking our car overnight for fear of vandalism. Then the guests we saw were not the kind of people we wanted our children around. Things were dingy and worn in the lobby. Same with the room. Even with it being non refundable we didn't even want to stay long enough to eat the food we bought in the room. The staff was fine. Nice and accomodating. Our decision not to stay was mainly due to the hotel being in a bad neighborhood.

Not too bad for the price.

Hotel staff were friendly, neighborhood was nice. Checkin area is pretty decent and there's plenty of parking but the shower had mold, saw a few roaches, and you can hear everything. I didn't expect "perfection" but I didn't think mold and roaches were apart of the deal. Overall, felt pretty safe. Sheets and bed was free of dirt and debris.

Needs a good cleaning.

Staff was friendly, but the overall experience was kind of disappointing. It kind of looked like the pictures that were posted online, it just is dirty. The hotel has the potential to be more appealing, I think it just needs a good cleaning and an exterminator. I didn't see evidence of bugs in my room but there was so much dirt on the floors and that could be seen throughout the building. When checking for bedbugs we were happy to not find anything but between the mattress and box spring was very dirty. It's clear that they haven't vacuumed under the matress in a long time, plus there was a cigarette butt in there. The bathroom was nice but had poor lighting and the floors were sticky. We never took our shoes off. After seeing a cockroach in the hallway we decided to leave early. That being said the room was nice to have to get ready for a concert in, but not nice enough to want to sleep there. It was also a convenient location to get a Lyft to Ford Field to avoid driving in the traffic ourselves.

So. If you love historic properties as I do you may love it. Built in 1923, inexpensive. I felt mostly safe. But not for the timid. (I think I smelled pot, a woman was screaming at her kids in the lobby.) Beautiful old window sill, radiator disguised with a covering, great old doors. AC was a window unit fortunately it worked well. Clean. Not sure I’d stay there again but glad I had the experience.

The staff was friendly and there is shopping nearby. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, although the room and tv were minimal. I would definitely stay here again. The 1926 Ford is epic in the lobby!

The desk clerk was vaping when we arrived. The fridge was on the floor in the room; several things were broken and/or in disrepair, it smelled, it was noisy, and it was dirty. We checked out within the first few hours.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! 0/10 stars! This hotel is rundown, old and needs a complete makeover. It smells disgusting - odours of cigarettes and drugs. The area appears unsafe as well, with questionable patrons loitering the lobby. I had originally booked this hotel due to the proximity to downtown Detroit, however, the hotel messed up my reservation and was not able to accommodate me with a comparable room - which was a blessing in disguise in hindsight.

Idk how the ratings are good but everything in the room was disgusting. It seemed like the room hasn’t been clean in months. I had to ask for soap and towels. He gave us 2 towels and one small soap size of a quarter. I booked a king size and twin bunk bed online, got there and the guy in front said they don’t have bunk beds. So why is it on the website then. Gave us two queens instead and man I will never go back again. First and last time. Saw a roach looking bug, underneath the beds was all kinds of foods and dirt/dust. Look like mold in the bathroom. Man was I disappointed, had my kids with me too.
