"This little gem is hiding behind the songtsam temple, though it's a bit hard to find even with the GPS. The small town in front of the hotel is undergoing heavy constructions. We arrived there with no hot water and got a free upgrade a suite. Room is huge but not as cozy as the smaller one. They even set up the fireplace to get the room warmed up for us everyday. "upgraded to a fantastic suite with terrific view on the executive floor. checked in after 1:30 am and they were very gracious. Had only booked the hotel for 2 nights so the next day tried to extend another 4 nights and was told all rooms were booked. After great help from the manager and ms. fosuzen at the front desk, we were able to negotiate for a special price to continue to use the suite. Suzen had a smile on her face the whole way. Will certainly stay there again next time."

Only major warning and complaint I would have is the hotel front desk charged a "deposite" on check in I thought nothing of it because its an international card. Luckily I was meeting someone who lives in China and when they found out they immediately got a refund. It was explained to me that deposites are not something that is done. This hotel was a great find! It is very affordably priced with a good location in Kunming. It is within walking distance of a metro station. The main negative feature was the surprisingly dirty carpets in the hallways for the rooms. The lobby area and most common area were all pristine.
