"Le gîte est vraiment grand. Il y a de la place pour tout le monde, aussi bien à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur. L’environnement est très calme. On est au fin fond de la campagne. Les seuls dérangements sonores sont ceux des chiens de chasse et du clocher. Des tv sont installées dans presque toutes les pièces. La cuisine est spacieuse avec tout le nécessaire mis à disposition. "Die Unterkunft entspricht den Bildern. Es ist zwar ein altes Haus aber hat trotzdem sehr viel Charme. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. "It was probably the nicest hotel in Amelie-les-bains, which has few operating hotels and not an especially beautiful small town in the Pyrenees. The town is full of retirees and supports elderly French people there to take the cure in the Roman baths. We appreciated the AC and the bike room at the Castel hotel. Most people stay for one night en route to another place. We stayed for 4 days using it as a base for a cycling holiday. The housekeeping is done only once a week in the rooms, and the guest laundry machines were broken so we couldn’t use them. Our studio room was small and in need of updating. There were holes in the wall that needed patching. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was good. It was important to reserve for dinner since the restaurant was full every night with locals and guests bringing their dogs. They have a dog named obelisk and welcome all canines."
