"Views, location, food, hosts and accommodations were incredible. It’s a place that allows you to take a deep breath and just relax. The hardest part is leaving. I would 100% recommend anyone that is in the area to stay. "

"The view of the waterfalls from the hotel is out of this world. The food is very good and the waiters provide a wonderful service. The only problems were that the rooms were a little cold because the doors leave space at the bottom and on the sides that let the cold air in. Also the information about tours is not very good. The tour to see the Cobb in the rocks was amazing. Felipe us a great guide. Miss the view of the Gocta waterfall already."

"Chachapoyas is a little place, and it was nice to find a nice hotel. Aside from the neighborhood rooster, it was very peaceful and a good walking distance from the town square. Someone had clearly invested quite a bit in renovating what looked like a formerly nondescript building. It's a great base of operations for seeing the Kuelap and the other many sites in the area."

"Felt like we had graduated to the Garden of Eden. Andrew is incredibly accessible and resourceful and allowed us to have a three day experience in all sensory domains - and then some - that we can not wait to build on. Absolutely no complaints. You will NOT regret the decision to make the trek. "

Stay here!

"What a uniquely charming little place. The staff are always friendly & we loved the courtyard with stairs going every which way & balconies a plenty. I guess it’s deserving of its name. The rooms were cozy & secure, loved the sliding windows overlooking the courtyard, the showers were hot, beds really comfy, & wifi super fast. Two small example of the attentiveness of the staff: they always seemed to know when we were out, which was different times each day, & took that opportunity to clean our room. And they’d leave a small chocolate candy on the freshly made beds for each of us. Another one is the night before we had to leave I’d asked if it were possible to reserve a taxi here in Chachapoyas. The staff member assured me he’d take care of it & the next morning at 9AM we had a knock on our suite door- it was our taxi driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here & would 100% recommend La Casa de los Balcones to anyone spending time in Chacha."
