"The room was very clean and comfortable. The view of the mountains was wonderful, and the night sky was gorgeous. I've never seen so many stars! We didn't get to enjoy the fireplace as the weather was too warm for a fire, but I bet it would have been cozy. Compared to other accommodations in the area, the price was very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend High Frontier."

"This is an old hotel but the upkeep leaves something to be desired. There were “ burrs” in the carpeting that clung to our socks and didn’t feel very good either! The coffee in the lobby was the worst and depleted by 7:30. There were no cup covers for the coffee cups. "

"Our family of 4 had an incredibly comfortable 3-night stay at this beautiful hillside home. The location is unbeatable—stunning Davis Mountain views, yet just minutes from the State Park, McDonald Observatory, and Main Street Ft. Davis.The house is spacious with authentic Texas charm, great bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of room to relax.Best of all, the incredibly dark skies made this home the perfect base for astrophotography. We easily set up our gear right on the property to capture deep sky objects. Highly recommend!"

"Easy to get from the hotel to Fort Davis and McDonald Observatory. Room was super comfortable with big bath area. I loved having the common areas to sit or fix some food."

"Our stay at the Drugstore Hotel was truly unique—an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything we saw in the photos came to life, and honestly, it was even better than we expected. My son absolutely loved it—he said he would happily live there forever, playing games and enjoying every moment. That alone says so much about how special this place is. We felt incredibly welcome throughout our stay, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and fully enjoy our time as a family. Highly, highly recommended! "Very clean,comfortable and well appointed house. It is centrally located to Marfa, Alpine, McDonald Observatory.We were there at the beginning of the week mid March and found that many restaurants didn't open until Thursday. If I had known, I would have shopped Lowes for groceries and cooked in Starry Night's very lovely kitchen. A very nice large dining table for meals and games."

"Artistic and fun property, with all the comforts of home! Great for couples, friends or families. (Maybe tough with a toddler who wants to touch everything, thinking back to those days, as they have so many cool decorations .... but depends on your kids!) We would stay again."
