「A Best Western or a Hilton it ain't, but there was really nothing wrong with Dawson House Lodge. The air conditioning was ample and easy to operate. A notice posted in the room warned of draconian penalties for smoking in the room, but I checked out smoothly the next morning without any smoking inspection to verify compliance. The information notebook in the room had, among many materials, menus from the two cafes across the road, KJ's and the Ponderosa Lounge. Neither was open when I went out...
