The Orca at AlaskInn - Oceanside suite

Bring dinner in and relax in this comfortable, clean suite. This ground-level room has a convenient kitchenette and ocean views. This beautiful home is on the water with a small public beach next door. Kayaks are available for those who want to explore the bay or nearby marina.

A private entrance in front of the house leads to an enclosed space with a closet full of games, movies, and beach towels to use at your convenience. The bedroom suite is spacious and has an efficient heater so you can stay warm and comfortable. Dishes and basic supplies are provided. A microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker are available. Internet is available. This location has better cell coverage than isolated parts of the island.
The hosts live in the main house and are available to answer any questions, give local advice, and make sure you have an unforgettable experience. Texting is best if you have a need. We answer immediately.


This is a residential neighborhood with a mix of rental properties, vacation homes, and year-round homes. The road is a small street that meanders along Bucareli Bay in Craig. Nearby, there is a large park with a playground, picnic area, and trails. Two marinas are in town, as well as shopping and groceries. Fishing charters are available.


If you want to see the island a rental car will be necessary and is highly recommended.

Perfect Getaway

I had a lovely time staying in Craig. I was able to walk to multiple restaurants and a fantastic hiking trail. I watched the sunset from a nice bench on the beach and finished watching the sunset from the comfort of the bed in the room. It was just me but would have been comfortable with more guests. The interactions with the hosts were extremely pleasant! 10/10 would recommend.

Not the best experience.

The towels were sour smelling as if it was left in the washer too long. Since it’s a studio apartment, it smelled up the place. We tried asking for new ones, but never got one the four days that we were there. Their dog tried to attack me on the second day. The payment issue was a whole other issue. We tried paying on VRBO and in person. Out of nowhere, we we’re threatened that if we don’t pay or return their key (we never got a key) that they will file a complaint. I wish they were able to communicate in a better way.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were awesome. It was so quiet I slept great.

This place is clean, quiet and comfortable. I was there for work, and it was a great place to come back and relax. I would definitely rent it again.
