More Hobbit than Batman (no parking), this unique troglodyte cottage is built into the limestone cliff above the beautiful Provençal village of Cotignac. One of the most enchanting properties in the area, it features a garden filled with roses, palm trees, cacti, and oleanders.
Enjoy panoramic views over the village.
Parking is available nearby, but the property itself has no vehicle access—only a narrow, steep path leads to the house. This is the owner’s painting studio—an easel is available.
Owls nest above—please, no late-night parties or loud music.
A good level of fitness is required.
The property offers a studio-style kitchenette, a table and chair, an armchair, and a cellar with a refrigerator. Stairs lead to a mezzanine level with a bedroom (new bed and comfortable 160x200 cm mattress) and a small bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink.
Guests have exclusive use of the house and garden. We come to water the plants once a day in summer. The cliffside path in front is public, so people occasionally pass by. Around April 5–14, the pink banksia blooms, covering almost the entire apartment and cottage.
The house, garden, and view are so beautiful that passersby often stop to admire them.
