Relaxing time with family

Other than location being close to busy highway, this was perfect home. Homeowner thought of and provided everything that was needed. Home was clean and overall in good maintenance condition. Town of Corolla was close and will definitely stay here again.

Diamond in the rough week

We had a rough week but were able to make the best of it with the sand castle. We had a death in the family days before leaving so had to travel back to PA and back to OBX right in the middle of the trip. The house was not ready on time at check-in but the cleaners were super gracious and sweet and we just sat by the pool while they took care of business; totally understandable and they did not skimp on the cleaning to rush us in so we appreciated the detail. The pool was great, the walk to the beach was not bad. We got on the road early at check-out; my only suggestion here would be to put the instructions in writing. During pick-up, they verbally told me while picking up the keys that I could drop them at the office in Duck, but then the paperwork in writing bold on the bottom says to drop them off at the office in Kitty Hawk. I work contracts - in writing will always take precedence over verbal. The checkout sheet should be changed to reflect the proper address desired. It was a slight inconvenience to head away from home but nothing to complain about, I'm sure more of one for the office since they had to get the keys in Kitty Hawk but again, the written instruction wins. Overall, we made the best of a sad week; we got in some tubing and a horse tour. The kids had a ball, especially with the pool. Thanks!

Family vacay

This house needs a lot of updating. The kitchen appliances, the cabinets and countertops and the living room furniture. The furniture is very worn and dirty. For the money we paid I was disappointed. That being said, the outside amenities were nice. Everyone loved the hot tub and the pool area despite the water in the pool being freezing cold. The kids didn’t seem to mind it. The kids also loved the swings under the house. The walk to the beach wasn’t far and there is a ton of things to use even a rolling cooler. However, in its present condition, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Great fall getaway

Great week with the family

The property and location were fantastic. The place had plenty of room for us all and it never felt cramped. The pool was clean and warm. Plenty of fun in the game room. We will be back next year !

Well equipped home

We really enjoyed our stay! Plenty of space and tons to do! Close enough to the beach. I think my only complaint is the tiny coffee pot and the dog smell. We got some air freshener though! Otherwise perfect!!

Christmas Vacation

Overall it was a good experience. The only issue we had was that the coffee pot did not work and we were told to just use the single serve Keurig. With a large family of coffee drinkers, let’s just say it took a while to get everyone a cup.

Family friendly

We really enjoyed staying at this location. Easy access to the beach, plenty of toys, beach items, baby items, and plenty of things to do in the home. We absolutely loved the rec room. The only thing I would mention is the home is directly on Route 12 and is noisy due to constant cars driving. The home is fantastic and also needs updated pictures. It's better in person. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice Castle

We found Our Castle to be clean and well kept. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is also large with relatively new appliance and enough gear to our meals. It's an easy walk to the beach, but note the distance in the description.

Nice house

My family enjoyed staying at "Our Sand Castle". It was clean and kitchen well stocked with pots, dishes, etc. Short walk to beach.

This property looks nicer in person than in the photos. Absolutely everything we needed was provided (beach toys, chairs, pool floats, etc). We loved our stay and hope to come back.

Perfect for our family

The photos do not do this house justice. We had a fabulous week with our kids (13, 8 & 5) and dog. Easy walk to the beach. The pool was great for everyone with a shallow end (3 feet) and deeper end (6 feet), a ledge around the interior. We all enjoyed the game room with foosball, ping pong, TV and billiards, eating on the deck in the shade and lounging in the hammock on the front porch. 3-5 minute drive to restaurants for take-out, ice cream, the wild horse tours and jet skis. We would stay again!

More than we expected

Beautiful clean home! All the extras were a complete surprise that include plenty of beach chairs, pool accessories, bikes, etc. Our family had a wonderful time, despite being evacuated early due to Hurricane Dorian. We will return next year and years to come!
