Such a beautiful location! Everything was as described, Edwina checked in upon arrival and on Saturday and was easily accessible. Will definitely be back!
This stay was as pleasant as could be. Clean, comfortable, charming home had everything that you could possibly need. The location was idyllic and peaceful and perfect for getting away and relaxing in nature. We will return.
We loved our stay at Maple Lane. It's a very beautiful home in a beautiful location.Edwina is such a great host. She was available all the time to answer our questions and doubts.
Beautiful location out in the country! Grounds perfectly maintained; house immaculately clean; just enough, very nice furnishings! Great back deck to enjoy the peace, quiet, & beautiful surroundings. Great communication with the owner. Would certainly recommend to anyone visiting that part of the country!
The private setting was idyllic for this 18th century farm house. The rolling hills, woodlands, and landscaping, plus the yellow cow who kept watch over us, made for a fairytale weekend. The house was beautifully restored, with amenities added that did not detract from the historical appeal. Edwina had everything that we needed to make our stay lovely, right down to a plate of delicious homemade cookies on our arrival. I hope to come back and stay here in the future, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to vacation.
This property is absolutely stunning. We loved that it is quiet and felt secluded, but we had access to so many activities Lancaster County has to offer via a 20 minute car ride. The host was so helpful. The house was spotless clean and so welcoming. Our kids loved the trails on the property. Can’t wait to go back!!
Old meets new. All the convenience of the present with all the old charm of a country home in the 1800’s. Spotless, provided everything you could need. Beds are very comfortable!! The leaves were still changing so that was an extra blessing. We will definitely be back!!!
Our stay at Maple Lane offered everything we wanted and more. The house was clean and had all the appliances and amenities that we needed to feel at home. It was easy to find and centrally located relative to various activities throughout the area. Our host was very responsive when needed, but otherwise stayed out of our hair. My family and I walked the scenic property a few times over and enjoyed the quiet and nature. There was more than enough room for our family of four and could easily house three couples. I could not recommend this location more.
A beautifully restored historic home that has all the practical and homey touches to make it comfortable and convenient.
We enjoyed a four night stay and it was a great base from which to visit neighbouring communities. It is off the beaten track (but easy to find) and we enjoyed driving on the well maintained, winding roads through picturesque countryside. It was also a peaceful spot to return to and just hang out on the back deck, reading and listening to the birds.
We were just two and it was spacious and comfortable - but certainly lots of space for a bigger group.
Host was easy to contact / accessible, but there was nothing that needed attention during our stay.
Highly recommended.
Amazing old world farmhouse in a beautiful location
I recently stayed at this charming old stone farmhouse. The location was idyllic, offering a beautiful and quiet surrounding. The house itself was immaculate, with stunning wooden floors and delightful old-world details like unique door handles. It features three bedrooms and one and a half baths, providing comfort and a welcoming atmosphere. The property owners were consistently helpful and accessible, contributing to a seamless experience. While we didn't explore local attractions, the farmhouse alone made for a delightful retreat. I rate this Vrbo property 5 out of 5 for its comfort, charm, and excellent hospitality.
My wife, 1yr old daughter, and I spent a weekend at Maple Lane and had a wonderful time there. The old farmhouse has been beautifully restored and kept (there’s a photo album with the restoration details), the acreage is well maintained and clean, and the cows on the hill out the window always seem to be a little curious. Edwina was an excellent host as well. She contacted us a bit before checkin and checkout to make sure we knew what to do, and I have no doubt she would have been readily available in the off chance we needed something she hadn’t already take taken care of. My family was extremely happy with our stay and we are hoping to return next fall to finish exploring!
I cannot say enough about Maple Lane Farm. It was everything it was portrayed as being in its VRBO listing & is a just plain wonderful place to stay. Edwina is a gracious & delightful host who made sure the house was spotless before our arrival. A fabulously restored, warm, & inviting 1700s farmhouse, it is surrounded by farmland. As you drive down the long driveway, it's under a canopy of maple trees to a dell (yes, a real dell), in which sits the well-appointed house, & from which not a sound of a car can be heard. If my wife & I ever even think about vacationing in Lancaster County again, the first thing I will do is see if Maple Lane Farm is available.
The property managers were very polite and attentive, and carry a small basket with additional pamphlets for more ideas for travel in case you're itching to go out more! But, the house itself meets the perfect blend of modernization while still keeping it's original comfortable decor! Me and my girlfriend spent 4 days here, but you need to spend more to get the fullest joys of this beautiful property as well the enjoying the Lancaster area itself! I felt we had only scratched the surface! The only draw back I'll mention is that you may want to bring some type of converter with you in case you may bring an older generation console like we did (I took the Wii because of this year's heatwave), but i couldn't find any RGA inputs for it! Regardless, that's hardly detractor in comparison to the breathtaking views by the rivers, the rolling hills of Conestoga, the hiking trails both on the property and by the park nearby, and on the property alone being tucking comfortable in the hills as well! Definitely a must stay, and we're crossing our fingers to stop by again this winter or next spring!
Our stay was fantastic! The pictures are wonderful, but in person this farm house was even better than we could have imagined!!! Also, Edwina was a joy to rent from!
Her quick communication to welcome us to her home , fresh baked cookies on the counter and a light on when we arrived late at night and her sweet check in messages through our stay truly set this experience apart!
We came for a three day Amish country vacation and this home was in a great area that was only about 25-30 minutes from all our activities: kettle village, Gracie's on main, bird in hand, sight and sound theater!
The farmhouse was a great retreat where we began the day on the porch with coffee in hand and we looked forward to returning back each evening! I loved the secluded feeling of the home with great front and back porch areas to sit and enjoy the scenery and birds. My family enjoyed the cozy feel of the home, attention to details in the remodeling, the soft beds and beautiful yard to run around in!
If you're looking for a sweet spot to stay and get the country living experience while visiting the area, this is the place for you!
We loved our time at Maple Lane. Our kids couldn't wait to explore the property from the moment we pulled into the tree-lined driveway. We were only in the Lancaster area for two nights and had planned to go into town, but the setting of the home was so peaceful, we opted to stay in for the first evening. We loved sitting out on the back patio listening to the chorus of birds in the woods behind the house and watching the cattle roam by up the hill. The weather was warm enough that the kids were able to catch fireflies on the back lawn after roaming the trails on the property.
The home itself is beautifully restored, immaculate, and comfortable. Edwina is such a gracious host. She was quick to respond to our questions and she left delicious cookies for us to enjoy. Take the time to look through the photo book of the restoration of the home, and you will have an idea of how much care went into the property. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.
For those with kids who like to explore, look for the faces in the trees around the property. We managed to find 5 of the 9.
Thank you for sharing your home, Edwina and Don!
Excellent location for bicycle exploration in northern Lancaster County. Property was beautifully restored and well organized! Great value for the experience.
My family enjoyed staying at Maple Lane. We loved seeing the rabbits and cows and the fireflies put on a terrific light show. We had fun exploring the property and found six of the tree faces.
