We were very pleasantly surprised with everything. We were looking for a hotel for one night in the Columbus area, and this was the best price around so we did not have huge expectations...we just needed a room. As soon as we walked in, we were impressed. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was amazing. We wished we had more time to spend there.
Our room was difficult to adjust the heat. First it was freezing, in the 50's then after it was adjusted it was 88. We gave up and turned it off. The bathroom door had a decorative metal strip on it but was bent so everytime we opened or closed the silly barn door ( bathroom has a barn door) it sounded like we were crashing the wall. The pool was out of order again.
For $160 or so for one night you would think the place would be clean and not falling apart in the inside. Toilet kept overfilling(I fixed that) the towel hooks were falling off the walls and the walls by the windows were falling apart themselves and so many stains everywhere. Inside the bathroom on the walls there was hairs everywhere on the wall the doors the trim. Just gross. And the events were filled with black mold. Woke up stuffy and congestion. I took several pictures and would love to share.
There was nothing wrong with the hotel; the room was fantastic, the property was kept up, parking was great. I did not have breakfast. I did order from room service and the food was fine. My biggest issue was that upon check-in I was told that I had to basically put down $100 deposit, that’s not the issue. The issue is that they did not tell me that if I ordered room service that I was going to be charged another hundred dollars. I ordered room service the first night the next day. I looked at my bank card to see how much money I had and there was another hundred dollars withdrawn from the Sheridan. When I called them, the gentleman that answered the phone said that because I ordered room service that is why that happened and that sometimes it happened and sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes it won’t take extra unless you’ve spent $80. It made absolutely no sense to me, but he said it was a computer thing and there was nothing that he could do about it. I think the assumption by them was that I already knew that this was going to happen. I am not a well traveled person. In fact this is the first time I have traveled on my own so I wasn’t aware of the incidental fee, which is fine. It took two days to get my money back. I just think that somewhere somebody needs to explain to people what’s going to happen with that incidental fee and that they’re gonna have more taken out if they use it. I will likely never stay at the Sheridan again just for this reason.
The space was amazing, and the beds were comfy. The couch and chair in our suite were kind of grungy - as was the bathtub. Staff was incredible and always kind and able to point me in the correct direction.
The pools were fine. The indoor area was MUGGY, and the standing water around the pool was kind of weird.
The room was very spacious and met all my business needs to work from the room when needed. Plenty of charging areas in both the sitting area and room. Bathroom shower had some wear and tear but nothing horrible. Overall very satisfied with my stay.
Asked for towels, never got them. Asked for ice (all machines broken), never got it. WiFi didn’t work most of the time, tvs were basically hanging off the all (maintenance did come help with this). Every time I called the front desk I was put on hold for at least 15 mins or hung up on. Terrible
