Just returned home from our first trip to Costa Rica and week long stay at Casa de Noni. It lived up to every previous review and beyond!
We were a family of 8, six adults and two kids, 4 & 2 years old.
The house itself when we arrived was spotless and were welcomed by the most amazing host, Ruth. The AC in the rooms works amazing and will keep the most warm blooded bodies cool. We loved waking up and opening the house up to the jungle each morning listening to the jungle sounds sipping Costa Rican coffee. The kids spent enormous amounts of time in the pool which provided the perfect opportunity to cool down after a long adventure in the jungle. Some of us also enjoyed the outdoor shower adjacent to the pool that fully closes to provide complete privacy in the most unbelievable outdoor setting. From the back patio we saw iguanas, monkeys, and many different birds.
As some of the other reviews pointed out, the railings on the upstairs patio do provide a bit of a fall hazard for the toddlers so that was something we had to keep in mind. The bugs are definitely a thing to when you’re literally living in the jungle, but a few itches and having to redirect some crawlers here and there is nothing to complain about.
The house is less than I five minute walk to the most picturesque beaches I’ve seen. The town of Mal Pais is quiet but just a short drive away is a more bustling Santa Teresa for those in the family were looking for shops and beachside bars/restaurants. There are a couple of great restaurants 2 minutes walk from the house where we were able to find options for the most picky of pallets.
Ruth was amazing and organized all our travel to and from San Jose, delivery and rentals of a 4x4 rental car (must in this area) and 2 ATVs, and was available to do much more whenever we needed.
We spent most of our days exploring the local area on our ATVs and poked our heads into most of the area beaches on both sides of the peninsula.
Couldn’t recommend this property more, 10/10! Already planning our next trip back to the most amazing country.
