Cute Historic Get Away

Perfect for a small reunion with several high school friends. House was clean and great for our needs. Had fantastic old Cleveland charm. After a small snafu with entry to the apartment (cold Cleveland days make for sticky locks, no fault of owner) we were all set. Owner even offered late check out for our troubles. House was cozy and toasty on a cold winter night!

I would stay again.

The property is in a nice neighborhood. The inside had lots of space, the beds and couches were comfortable. Nicks Pizza, Lucky's market and Starbucks are two blocks away.

Short Stay, Great Time

This place was right near downtown and offered everything our group needed to celebrate my birthday. Friends traveling from out of state didn't have to mess around with meters for parking or much traffic at all. The location is right next to everything and ubers were just as quick. Owner of the house is very friendly and prompt.

Lake Eerie

Very close to the lake to go swimming! Bathroom was somewhat small but it worked. Nice vrbo for a group of 4 friends who took to exploring Cleveland!

great neighborhood

The house is set in a leafy residential neighborhood, walking distance to the lake.The host was easy to communicate with and let us check in early which we appreciated. The apartment is on the first floor of a two story house and very quiet. Although it checks all the boxes (it was as advertised) the property could use some TLC.

Nice place, could use some updates

Generally clean and good spot for brief stay. Nice quiet neighborhood, near downtown. Needed to text to get both check-in info and again to get Wifi code, though they were quickly responsive. Bedroom door didn’t close and there were holes in one of the ceilings. Not all rooms had AC.

Good overall

Neighborhood was nice. Location was good. Felt very safe. Check in process was easy. Property is as pictured. The only complaint is that the place needs some TLC and fixes to make the stay more comfortable. Outside of house could use some love, and a good cleaning on the ceiling fans. We couldn’t figure out how to use apps on the tv, which isnt a huge deal. Overall, good and served the purpose as we only stayed one night.Thank you!

This property needs attention before it will really be welcoming to guests

Please review previous renters comments. Most are accurate. We gave the host the benefit of the doubt when booking. While the property management team and especially the cleaning staff were kind and responsive, this property did not meet even average Vrbo standards. There are significant repairs to the porch railing, indoor bedroom doors and basic accommodations like the bathtub and closets that should be done before future bookings. It is a one-floor unit of a small two-story home. The parking was not available in front of the home at night. We walked a significant distance to park each time we left the unit. There are not enough chairs, space at kitchen table or dishes and flatware to accommodate the six adults who stayed there in our party. The bathroom would be difficult to enter for a larger adult. We used the wi-fi successfully. We did enjoy a pleasant walk to the lake's edge. We found a lovely coffee shop. We were able to attend a friend's wedding. These were important. It has the potential to be a quaint mid-century experience, but it is not there yet.

Holiday stay

Well to start i wasn’t pleased with how the rates are I overlooked the booking saying it slept 9 people but I would be charged for everybody after 2 people it’s 4 of us that’s why we needed 3 rooms the bedroom door was broken so every time you closed it there was a loud noise the oven didn’t heat up so some of our food was destroyed because we put it in the oven to cook slowly overnight my son thought he saw a mouse then saw that there were traps and also some kinds of bugs one was a millipede and so other we sprayed with the spray under the sink cleanliness it was ok but we swept the floors an wiped the kitchen down once we were in there we used the microwave to melt chocolate an it sparked on us the beds were really low to the floor and was supposed to be queen size but they were very small to be queens and very uncomfortable host we there when we messaged them an it was pet friendly which was good but I dnt think I would stay again didn’t really enjoy my Christmas stay too much

not what i thought

i was charged extra for my 6 month old and 2 year old... We i went to home house was not clean well texted cleaner and was called nexted day that it was clean but had pictures... so the cleaner came out gavin me candy and a gift card i guess due to being pregnant and i had to clean home... I talked to mark he was great and tryed to help out due to oven not working so could not cook much... He also got a new microwave but as my husband and i where laying in our night clothes the cleaner walked in my husband asked her to leave she just came in and said no one will look at you... and as well tryed to walk around home which we did not need ... i my self have cleaned homes home for years and would not do.... But we had to extended our stay and mark was great with that... other then the poor worker the host was great with responding back to me... i would stay again if different cleaner and a new stove... but its not a bad places it very close to lake freeway and shopping centers..

Needs some TLC & a very diverse area

We certainly wished we had seen the updated reviews prior to booking. The whole place needs some TLC from the holes in the front porch, to the moldy smell when you open the front doors, to the mold in the bathroom and the condition of the backyard. We were specifically looking for a place with a backyard. This was one of the few places that offered it but it was unusable. The grill we didn’t even take the moldy cover off not knowing what we’d find The front & back both needed maintenance The location was convenient for getting to things we wanted to do, however, to say the area is “diverse “ is an understatement. Don’t go down the alley!!! The sirens during the night were a bit unsettling. If you’re into dive bars…you’re in luck 3 within walking distance. Cleaning fees should have been waived. There was a bag of garbage hanging on the door in the bathroom. The microwave was unusable. We had to ask for add’l supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap & garbage bags) The oven doesn’t work HOWEVER the host was responsive to our requests & when the power went out-due to a storm. He even asked if he could enter the house while we were gone to bring supplies Bottom Line would not recommend for a girls trip due to the area.

Significant maintenance issues, including hazards

Property has a great location. Hosts were good with communication and there was some effort to make the interior cute, like art and throw pillows. The sheets & comforters appeared clean, beds were decent, TV nice, sofas great! HOWEVER, there are serious problems. First, the front porch has a very large area of rotted and broken planks, and yet there is a swing sofa chair situated right over it, inviting people to sit despite the literal hazard that they could fall through the collapsing porch. If this were somehow blocked or boarded off, I might not complain, but it is the lack of care for people who might actually sit on it that bothers me! Also, the property was listed as having a fenced yard. It does. When we arrived the nearly broken-off back gate was open and I had to snap very large weeds to force it closed. The entire property is overgrown, with long, weedy grass. I had to pick up garbage. There is a table & chairs encrusted with debris & uninviting, dirty chair cushions stored under the stairs. There is a grill, but it is covered with a very dirty, mildewed cover. If people care enough about their dogs to seek a fenced yard, they would never release them free in this yard! Inside, there was debris under the beds, including dust, garbage, a lighter, etc. It was frustrating to pay a cleaning fee for this property. Can't plug in a charger by all beds. Shower is mildewed & curtain is falling off. AC units work well, but bugs come in under them. Refrig froze our food.

The neighborhood is calm and quiet, but it's easy to access the nearby night life if you want. Really neat building. There was some minor damage in a couple of places but nothing that caused any issues. Would definitely stay here again!
