Family weekend

First trip to Cincinnati for a long weekend. Wanted to be close to downtown for baseball and sightseeing and we did find it easy to get there within 15 minutes. House and neighborhood are older. You had to watch when walking up to the front sidewalk from driveway that a car wasn't going to run you down. We had 3 couples and one toddler and were a little disappointed the backyard was a bit neglected to have her play out there. We ate out so didn't use all the available pots, pans and dishes but some extra glasses and coffee mugs would be helpful. Tried the nearby Incline Social House that has a great city view and enjoyed the food so much we went back for brunch. Our host was very responsive and gave us some good recommendations.

Got the job done, but some quirks to be aware of

This is a cute 4 bedroom with comfortable beds and a nice rec room downstairs. The host is very friendly and responsive. Check-in was flawless, and communication in advance was excellent. This is an older home, and so it has some quirks. The biggest is that there is a step right in front of the refrigerator. It is hard to describe, I wish I had taken a picture. But when you are in front of the fridge, you have to be mindful not to step back too far as you close it and are stepping away (it is one step down, not stairs).Also, there is no outlet in the downstairs bathroom (so our daughter went to the upstairs bathroom to dry her hair). The upstairs bathroom doesn't have it's own heat vent, so it is a good idea to keep the door open when not using so it can stay warm (that wasn't a big problem). The listing of amenities says it has a dishwasher. We could not find a dishwasher. Not a big problem, we didn't make lots of meals there, but wanted to note. Also, we couldn't get the fridge water dispenser to work.Finally, the property says it sleeps 9 which is absolutely true. But if you want to have a meal, there really isn't seating for 9 people. There is an island in the kitchen that seats 3-4. And then a small table off to the side that seats 2. And they (rightly) don't want you eating in the living room. We worked around this by eating in "shifts" which was fine for breakfast before we headed out.It got the job done but would not rent again.

Disappointed

Although I am hesitant to write a negative review, I also know that I choose places based on the reviews of others and I depend on them telling the truth. Unfortunately I would not recommend staying here (and would not return) due to several reasons: It was not clean. The dishes, utensils, etc in the kitchen were grimy and there is no dishwasher. There were not enough cups for eight people. The floors were dirty. My clean pair of white socks were very dirty after a short time and we always leave our shoes at the door when entering a home. Location is "sketchy" with derelict buildings beside and across from this property. The backyard is unkept with a few old unusable chairs. Potential black mold. Smelled like cat urine but the owner said that there were no pets allowed. The second morning our daughter woke up having a hard time breathing and had to leave the house. She had an allergy to black mold, which it turns out can smell like cat urine. I messaged the owner this information and said we had to leave due to this. The owner agreed to refund us the unused three nights and said they would have a remediation company come in to check for black mold. It seemed to be coming through the ventilation/ac system. Not sure if this has been done yet... Although the three unused nights were refunded, the taxes, VRBO fees and cleaning fees were not refunded so it ended up costing us a considerable amount of money to stay here for two nights. I would not return.

Great property for 8 people. Appreciated the 4 bedrooms with queen beds. Beds very comfortable

Easy to check in. Plenty of parking in driveway for 3 cars. Great location. We were in for a UC graduation and it was centrally located to UC, downtown and other attractions.

Great place, great location near downtown 5 stars

In town to see a Bengals game and this house was perfect for our small group. Beds were comfy, place was clean and updates were great. Game room in the basement too. I would stay here on a future trip. Downtown a 10 minute drive.

Successful friends weekend

Met up with friends from a previous work stop. House was easy to access, clean and had great amenities, like the game room. Fairly prices with four good-sized bedrooms. Very nice.

Nice getaway for us

We enjoyed our stay here. The communication with the owner was awesome. Had I paid more attention to the description and pictures, I may not have chosen this property simply because the dining room and living room areas didn't really have enough seating for our family of 6, and for that reason it's doubtful that we would come back; but we enjoyed our time here. With a little more space in those areas or if not all of us would be vacationing, I would definitely consider a return visit.

Coming together again.

The place was clean for the most part. The grass needed cutting, other than that everything else was in order. I would definitely stay again.

Great property, fully satisfied our needs

We are four adult men on a golf trip so our needs are few: a clean house with comfortable beds. This property met those needs with no issue. The property manager kept in contact throughout our stay and offered suggestions for local dining, events and more. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

First time in Cincinnati

House had plenty of space for everyone and was clean and comfortable. Hosts were responsive and made us feel very welcomed. Would recommend to anyone with a family or few friends. Basement has lots of activities and my kids took advantage. Great time!

Cozy!

Had the essentials we needed. Bath towels were very soft. The beds are firm. The kids especially loved the touch of some local snacks and the cozy reading area. So glad coffee and tea was provided, thank you!! Host had excellent communication and we were provided a phone number in case we needed anything. Overall good stay.

Hospitality in Cincinnati

We took a group of 5 students on an 8th grade trip. The trip had to be delayed due to Covid and the owner was beyond gracious in rescheduling. This house with the game room caught our attention and did not disappoint. The kids had a ton of fun playing a wide variety of games indoor and outdoor, movies and cards. The house was pleasantly stocked with water, snacks, an assortment of teas, cooking supplies, information and a truly welcomed feel! The property manager was beyond easy to communicate with and helpful. The house was a bit smaller than we envisioned from the pictures, but met our needs. Driving to the house, you drive through a sketchy area, but the house felt safe and no issues.

The Host was great house was ok

We checked in via keyless entry. The house was clean and it was a beautiful assortment of treats left in the kitchen. We have stayed in many properties as we often vacation and this was by far the worst. The house had roaches which is really gross. The back yard was very unkempt and we got locked out of the property and had to have the host let us in because the keyless entry stopped working. The host was wonderful we are big on cooking and noticed the lack of cooking utensils. The host purchased a new blender and brought it over which was really kind on her part. If property has a good Exterminator and very thorough cleaning inside and out than we would consider staying again.
