"The staff was so hospitable and made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was the best we ate in Japan, and cooked with love. The outdoor onsen was heavenly. A visit I will never forget."

"The staff were very responsive and friendly. The hotel was also very warm and inviting - they lit the fireplace on some nights and there were fun amenities in the lobby like hammocks and a foosball table. My 9 year old daughter loved the kid's club and was there before dinner everyday. My husband and I also loved the gym - it was very clean and well equipped. The onsen was also wonderful, especially the outdoor section. The breakfast buffet selection was very wide and we needed a couple of days to finish discovering all the dishes. Parking was free and very convenient - we were able to park very close to the lobby. The room was spacious and had a huge powder room and a very clean shower and bath area. Housekeeping was very good at making sure we were well supplied with drip coffee and bottled water everyday. The only small downside was the distance between the hotel and the closest town. Thankfully we drove, so it wasn't difficult to get in and out. The surrounding area is beautiful and we would love to visit again not just for the hotel, but also for the scenic spots!"

"Excellent stay. Everything stands out. Clean, safe, wonderful, amazing snowy night and day. Staying there for 2 nights was so dreamy. The onsen experience was unreal. Breakfast was filling with a great set offered. Staffs were helpful and patient. Language barrier was not a big issue. They sincerely try their very best to accomodate. If you want perfect english, best to visit an english-speaking country."

"We stayed here as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids - 10, 6 and 4) in the traditional Japanese room. We didn't get in till 6ish and left early so we could get to Kamikochi but I wish we had of added another night or at least got there at check in time to make the most of the facilities. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the onsen. The traditional room is set up for tea when you arrive and then the staff comes back later to make the beds for you. The kids loved the experience. We were also able to wear the yukata to dinner. You can call down for kids ones to be brought up. Staff were lovely. We hadn't booked a food package as I have picky eaters but we went to the dining area on level 1 and were able to order a Japanese set meal for my husband and I and the kids had chicken nuggets, spaghetti and ice-cream. Highly recommend"

"It was hard to appreciate the full experience as the staff did not have an English translation for key protocol or amenities (I realise it is noted when booking that staff don’t speak English ) But to move forward and guests to experience the full Onsen experience this would be an enhancement The room was spacious but suffered from condensation and could do with some more up to date Electrical points "
