Charming Orchard Cottage…Pet Friendly!!

Located in the Northern California town of Chico, nestled in a walnut orchard, The Chandler Orchard Cottage is a pet friendly 600 sq/ft private studio space that is sure to please.

The cottage offers WIFI access and a 42” Roku TV with streaming capabilities of your favorite entertainment apps.

Detached and private from our main farmhouse, the orchard cottage features its own full kitchen and bathroom. The recently remodeled bathroom has a large shower surrounded by fresh subway tile, a marble topped vanity and a farmhouse style bathroom sink.

The kitchen is stocked with all that you need to prepare meals and includes a refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, a gas range with oven below, a microwave, large sink, a toaster and Keurig with coffee pods . The cottage kitchen has newly painted cabinets, country backsplash tile and butcher block counters.

The cottage has a queen size bed with brand new Lucid brand memory foam mattress and a pull-out queen size sleeper sofa. Please note this is a studio space with no bedrooms. We are happy to prep the sofa bed with enough advanced notice. Sheets and bedding are stocked in closet.

A Pack N' Play with sheet is also in closet.

Air conditioning, ceiling fans and all day shade provided by grand old trees keep this cottage cool during summer months.

French doors open to a shady patio surrounded by seasonal orange trees with views into our Chandler walnut orchard.

Country vibes with close proximity to downtown Chico, CSU Chico, groceries, and the Sacramento River.

Pet friendly. Please mention pet prior to arrival. A $35 pet fee per booking (not per pet) required. Max of 4 well behaved pets. Guests are asked not to leave pets unaccompanied for long periods in the cottage.

Our cottage is located in a walnut orchard. Throughout the year there is minimal activity in the orchard and we generally work around our cottage bookings but you may see or hear mowing, irrigation, trimming durning business hours. Harvest season is in October. Please be advised that we may be harvesting during an October stay. We do our best to work around our guests schedule but harvest is time sensitive and weather dependent.

Very cute, clean and comfortable spot! The host has all the necessities, the decor is simple but totally perfect for the spot. The in person looks just like the photos. There was a minor hiccup that the host was quick to respond to. Just know, if you stay here, you are in the country! Dirt driveways and pathways. If you’re visiting during the winter, be sure to bring good shoes to walk around outside. I would definitely stay again.

Great Cottage in relaxing Walnut Orchard

Convenient location (about 2 miles) from Chico State. Relaxing, quiet area with hundreds of walnut trees outside your back door, nice little sitting area outside.

Great little cottage

Overall cottage was great, only constructive feedback i could give is I was not a fan of the bathroom door, bathroom has a barn door that when closed you can still see in the bathroom from sides of the door since the barn door hangs about 2 inches off the wall, other than that great cottage with very good decor. Also very quiet neighborhood and very clean

Wonderful, quaint place with everything you need.

Stayed at the cottage will the rest of my group stayed in the farmhouse. Loved the cottage. Had everything I needed. Was surprised that even during the hottest days, the cottage stayed cool. With the evening breezes, I never had to use air conditioning to be comfortable. Hosts are incredibly responsive to inquiries, gracious and helpful.

cute cabin on outskirts of Chico

This is a cute, nicely renovated, roomy, detached cottage set in the middle of a fruit orchard. It was sparkling clean and very quiet which is just how we like it. We were charmed by the orange trees over the patio and at the front door. Despite the bucolic setting, we found it was just a few minutes drive to downtown Chico to restaurants and stores. The hosts were very responsive to any communication and provided clear instructions for checking in and out.

Delightful!

Charming, thoughtfully appointed large studio with artful farmhouse decor. Well stocked kitchen, nice water pressure in shower. Very responsive owner. Easy check-in. One piece of advice: if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs to block out night noises, including refrigerator (ice maker?), train whistles, and early morning traffic. Also be aware that there are no drawers for clothing, just open shelves (the closet does have hangers). I personally did not find any of this off-putting, and definitely would stay again. Highly recommend!

Cute country cottage

Stayed one night with my dog on our roadtrip from Seattle to Scottsdale. I was looking for something quiet, safe in a cool or different environment than a hotel can provide. The cottage interior is spacious, charming and adorable and has all you need. I was cold though - the wall heater did not provide enough heat in my opinion. The exterior/property is also really charming. It was my first time in Chico and I thought it was a lovely farming area with acres and acres of orchards. There isn’t really anywhere to let your pet out though. And the farmhouse that is pretty much attached or very very close had a party with lots of people up late into the night.

Super nice

Booked this cottage for 2 nights for moving my kid into Chico for freshman year. Wanted something off the beaten path but not too far away not really being familiar with the main part of town. This did not disappoint. For about the same price as a very nice hotel you can get this cottage on a working walnut grove farm. Very clean. Owner had great communication. Easy to do business with. Quiet. Safe. Would book again. Only caveat that I always seem to miss in listings is there was no dishwasher. Not an issue for us as we ate out and only made bagel and coffee in the morning for breakfast.
