We checked in after they were closed for the night. They left instructions on the door for what to do making it very easy. Very clean motel. I felt safe during my stay. The only complaint I have is they lost power at 8:45 am making it slightly difficult to get our things around to check out — but that isn’t their fault at all and my review does not reflect the power loss.

Everything about this place is exceptional! The owner has taken updating, remodeling, decorating to the next level A+++++. She is very friendly and accommodating. This is our 2nd visit in 2 years - and we plan to schedule more time there in the coming years (we have family in Cheboygan that we visit regularly).

This is my second stay at the Monarch Motel. For the price it is a good room. The mattress could be updated and the water had a sulfur smell, but I would stay there again, for sure.

The exterior of the hotel was clean and well kept. The check-in was a little strange. There was a list of names taped to the office door with assigned room numbers and the room key left in the door knob. The room we stayed in was in need of maintenance but clean. There was a missing pane of glass in one of the windows and duct tape in the shower. I wouldn't stay here again.
